Setup

1. Unpacking

Carefully remove the ice maker from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Retain packaging materials for future transport or storage.

2. Placement

Place the ice maker on a firm, level surface in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for proper air circulation (at least 4 inches from walls).

3. Water Connection

Your YITAHOME ice maker supports two water inlet methods: tap water supply or bottled water supply.

Option A: Tap Water Supply

  1. Connect the provided water filter to the "Water filter inlet" port at the back of the machine.
  2. Connect one end of the water inlet hose to the water filter and the other end to your tap water supply. Ensure all connections are secure to prevent leaks.

Option B: Bottled Water Supply (Bottom Loading)

  1. Connect the pump water inlet hose to the "Pump water inlet" port at the back of the machine.
  2. Place a standard 5-gallon bottled water jug into the designated compartment (usually at the bottom or back of the machine) and insert the pump hose into the jug.

Drain Hose Connection

Connect the drain hose to the "Drain hose outlet" at the back of the machine and direct the other end to a suitable drain or bucket. Ensure the drain hose is lower than the machine's outlet for proper gravity drainage.

4. Power Connection

Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the machine's requirements.

5. Initial Cleaning

Before first use, it is recommended to perform an initial cleaning cycle. Refer to the "Automatic Cleaning" section under Maintenance for instructions.

  • ON/OFF Button: Powers the machine on or off.
  • LIGHT Button: Toggles the internal blue light. (Note: A long press of this button also allows selection between tap water and bottled water input modes, indicated by "00" for tap water and "01" for bottled water on the display.)
  • CLEAN Button: Initiates the automatic cleaning cycle.
  • TIMER Button: Activates the 24-hour reservation function.
  • '+' and '-' Buttons: Adjust ice thickness (when not in timer mode) or set timer duration.
  • Display Screen: Shows current status, error codes, or timer settings.

Making Ice

  1. Turn On: Press the ON/OFF button to start the machine.
  2. Select Water Inlet (if necessary): If you are switching water sources (e.g., from tap to bottled), long press the LIGHT button. The display will show "00" for tap water or "01" for bottled water. Use the '+' or '-' buttons to select the desired mode, then press ON/OFF to confirm.
  3. Adjust Ice Thickness: Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the ice thickness. Settings range from -9 to 9. Smaller values (e.g., -9 to -3) produce thinner ice (6-8 minutes), medium values (e.g., -3 to 3) produce medium ice (9-11 minutes), and larger values (e.g., 3 to 9) produce thicker ice (12-15 minutes).
  4. 24-Hour Reservation Function: Press the TIMER button to activate the timer. Use the '+' and '-' buttons to set the desired delay time (up to 24 hours) before the machine starts or stops. This feature helps improve operational efficiency and reduce energy costs.

Ice Collection

Once ice production is complete, open the front lid to access the ice bin. Use the provided ice scoop to retrieve ice. The machine will automatically stop when the ice bin is full and resume production once ice is removed.

Maintenance

Automatic Cleaning

The ice maker features an automatic cleaning program to maintain hygiene and efficiency.

  1. Ensure the machine is connected to a water source and the drain hose is properly positioned.
  2. Press the CLEAN button on the control panel. The machine will automatically run a cleaning cycle, circulating water and draining it.
  3. Once the cycle is complete, the machine will return to standby mode.

Regular Cleaning

For optimal performance and hygiene, perform manual cleaning periodically:

  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Interior: For thorough cleaning, unplug the machine. Remove any remaining ice. Clean the ice bin and water reservoir with a mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Ensure all components are dry before reassembling and restarting.
