Important Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions could result in fire, explosion, or burn hazard, which could cause property damage, personal injury, or death.

  • Outdoor Use Only: This smoker is designed for outdoor use only. Never operate it in an enclosed area such as a garage, shed, or breezeway.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the smoker. Do not block airflow openings.
  • Flammable Materials: Keep the smoker at least 10 feet (3 meters) away from any combustible materials, structures, or surfaces.
  • Propane Tank: Use only a standard 20 lb (9 kg) propane cylinder (LP gas tank) with an OPD (Overfill Protection Device) valve. Always connect and disconnect the propane tank outdoors.
  • Leak Testing: Always perform a leak test on all gas connections before initial use and after any period of storage or if the tank has been replaced. Use a soapy water solution; never use a flame.
  • Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Burning charcoal or gas inside can kill you. It gives off carbon monoxide, which has no odor. NEVER burn charcoal or gas inside homes, vehicles, or tents.
  • Hot Surfaces: The smoker will become very hot during operation. Use heat-resistant gloves and avoid direct contact with hot surfaces. Keep children and pets away from the smoker at all times.
  • Supervision: Never leave the smoker unattended while in operation.

Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to set up your smoker:

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Check for any damage or missing parts.
  2. Assembly: Assemble the smoker according to the included assembly diagram (if provided separately). Ensure all screws and fasteners are tightened securely.
  3. Placement: Place the smoker on a level, non-combustible surface outdoors, away from any flammable materials.
  4. Connect Propane Tank:
    • Ensure the smoker's control knob is in the 'OFF' position.
    • Connect the regulator to the propane tank valve. Hand-tighten firmly. Do not use tools.
    • Perform a leak test: Open the propane tank valve slowly. Apply a soapy water solution to all connections. If bubbles appear, there is a leak. Close the tank valve and re-tighten connections. Repeat the test. If leaks persist, do not use the smoker and contact customer support.
  5. Pre-Seasoning: Before first use, pre-season the smoker to burn off manufacturing oils and odors. Operate the smoker empty at approximately 250°F (120°C) for 1-2 hours.

Follow these steps for smoking food:

  1. Prepare Water and Wood Trays: Fill the water tray with water, juice, or beer for moisture. Place desired wood chips or chunks in the firewood tray.
  2. Arrange Food: Place food on the cooking grates. The grates are adjustable to accommodate different food sizes. Ensure there is adequate space for smoke circulation.
  3. Lighting the Smoker:
    • Ensure the propane tank valve is open.
    • Open the smoker door.
    • Turn the control knob to the 'HIGH' position.
    • Use a long lighter or match to ignite the burner through the lighting hole.
    • Once lit, close the door.
  4. Temperature Control: Adjust the control knob to achieve the desired smoking temperature. Monitor the built-in temperature gauge.
  5. Smoking Process: Allow the smoker to reach the target temperature before placing food inside. Maintain consistent temperature throughout the cooking process.
  6. Monitoring: Use the glass window to observe food without opening the door, minimizing heat loss.
  7. Adding Wood/Water: The water and wood chip trays can be accessed and refilled without opening the main cooking chamber, reducing heat loss.
  8. Shutting Down: When finished, turn the control knob to 'OFF', then close the valve on the propane tank. Allow the smoker to cool completely before cleaning.

Care and Maintenance

Proper care ensures the longevity and performance of your smoker:

  • Cleaning After Each Use:
    • Allow the smoker to cool completely.
    • Remove cooking grates, water tray, and firewood tray. Wash them with warm, soapy water.
    • Wipe down the interior and exterior surfaces with a damp cloth. For stubborn grease, use a mild degreaser.
    • Do not use abrasive cleaners or steel wool, as they can damage the finish.
  • Burner Maintenance: Periodically check the burner for obstructions (e.g., spider webs, debris). Clean with a soft brush if necessary.
  • Storage: Store the smoker in a dry, protected area when not in use. If storing outdoors, use a weather-resistant cover.
  • Moisture-Proof Cover: A moisture-proof cover is recommended to protect the smoker from rain and other elements, preventing corrosion.
