Setup

1. Unpacking

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure the following items are present:

  • HP 14-EP000 Laptop
  • 45W AC Adapter
  • 32GB USB Drive (included extra)

2. Initial Power On

  1. Connect the 45W AC Adapter to the laptop's power input and then to a power outlet.
  2. Open the laptop lid. The laptop may power on automatically, or you may need to press the power button.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the Windows 10 Home setup process. This includes setting up your region, language, keyboard layout, and user account.

3. Connecting to Wi-Fi

Once Windows setup is complete, connect to a Wi-Fi network:

  • Click the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray (bottom right corner of the screen).
  • Select your desired network from the list and click "Connect".
  • Enter the network security key (password) if prompted.

Using the Privacy Shutter

The integrated 1080p FHD Camera includes a physical privacy shutter. To activate or deactivate the shutter, slide the small switch located next to the camera lens. This ensures your privacy when the camera is not in use.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Laptop

  • Screen: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for electronics. Dampen the cloth slightly with water or a screen cleaner solution. Do not spray liquid directly onto the screen.
  • Keyboard and Chassis: Use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap solution can be used, ensuring no liquid enters the ports or vents.
  • Vents: Periodically use compressed air to clear dust from the cooling vents to maintain optimal airflow and prevent overheating.

Battery Care

The laptop is equipped with a 3 Cell 41 Wh battery, providing up to 8 hours of average usage. To prolong battery life:

  • Avoid extreme temperatures.
  • Do not fully discharge the battery frequently.
  • If storing the laptop for an extended period, ensure the battery is charged to about 50%.

Troubleshooting
