Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the safety and effectiveness of your VEVOR pool cover. This process involves drilling into your concrete pool deck to install the brass anchors.
Tools Required (Not Included):
- Rotary Hammer Drill with appropriate masonry drill bit (matching anchor size)
- Measuring Tape
- Chalk or Marker
- Safety Glasses and Gloves
Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Pool Area: Ensure the pool deck is clean and free of debris. The pool water level should be at its winterizing level, typically 12-18 inches below the coping.
- Position the Cover: Carefully unroll the safety cover over your pool, centering it so that the cover overlaps the pool edges evenly. The cover size is 2ft larger than your pool dimensions (e.g., an 18x32 ft cover for a 16x30 ft pool) to allow for proper anchoring.
- Mark Anchor Points: Locate the straps around the perimeter of the cover. Extend each strap outwards from the pool edge. Mark the position for each brass anchor on the concrete deck, ensuring the strap is taut but not overly stretched. The distance from the pool edge to the anchor point will vary, but typically allows for the spring to be compressed by about 50% when installed.
- Drill Anchor Holes: Using a rotary hammer drill and the appropriate masonry bit, drill holes at each marked point. Ensure the holes are deep enough to fully accommodate the brass anchor.
- Install Brass Anchors: Insert the brass anchors into the drilled holes. Use the tamping tool to securely set each anchor flush with the deck surface.
- Attach Springs and Secure Cover: Attach a stainless steel spring to the end of each strap. Using the spring installation tool, hook each spring onto its corresponding brass anchor. Apply even tension around the entire perimeter of the cover. The rope length is adjustable (13.7-25.6 in / 35-65 cm) to fine-tune tension.
- Final Inspection: Once all springs are attached, walk around the pool to ensure the cover is taut and securely fastened. There should be no significant slack or gaps.

Operating the Pool Cover
The VEVOR Inground Pool Safety Cover is designed for seasonal use, primarily during the winter months or extended periods when the pool is not in use. Once installed, the cover provides continuous protection.
Deployment:
After initial installation, the cover remains deployed until the pool is ready for use again. The tight mesh design allows rainwater to pass through while filtering out debris, snow, and leaves, ensuring a cleaner pool when uncovered.

Removal:
To remove the cover, use the spring installation tool to detach each spring from its anchor. Once all springs are detached, carefully fold or roll the cover. Clean and dry the cover thoroughly before storing it for the next season.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance will extend the life of your VEVOR Inground Pool Safety Cover and ensure its continued effectiveness.
- Debris Removal: Regularly remove leaves, branches, and other debris from the surface of the cover using a soft-bristled brush or a leaf blower. Avoid using sharp tools that could damage the mesh.
- Cleaning: If necessary, clean the cover with a mild soap and water solution. Use a soft brush or sponge. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or pressure washers, as these can degrade the material.
- Drying: Before storing, ensure the cover is completely dry to prevent mold and mildew growth. Lay it out in a clean, shaded area or hang it to dry.
- Storage: Roll or fold the dry cover neatly. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, pests, and sharp objects that could cause punctures.
- Hardware Inspection: Periodically check the brass anchors, stainless steel springs, and straps for any signs of corrosion, wear, or damage. Replace any compromised components immediately to maintain the cover's safety features.
Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your pool safety cover.
- Cover is not taut:
- Check if all springs are properly attached to their anchors.
- Ensure the rope length on the springs is adjusted correctly to provide adequate tension.
- Inspect anchors for looseness in the deck. Re-set or repair if necessary.
- Water accumulation on cover:
- The mesh design allows water to pass through. If water is pooling, check for debris blocking the mesh pores. Clean the cover as per maintenance instructions.
- Ensure the pool water level is at the recommended winterizing level.
- Damage to cover material:
- Small tears can often be repaired with a patch kit designed for pool covers.
- For significant damage, contact VEVOR customer support for replacement options.
