5. Setup and Installation
Professional installation is recommended. If you are performing the installation yourself, ensure you have the necessary tools, including a screwdriver, wire strippers, and potentially small wrenches for tightening components.
5.1 Pre-Installation
- Turn off power at the main circuit breaker.
- Unpack all components and inspect for any damage.
- Review the fixture dimensions (Figure 2) to ensure it fits your intended space.
- Determine the desired hanging height. The chain is 69 inches long and can be shortened by removing links.
5.2 Mounting the Fixture
- Attach the mounting bracket to the junction box in the ceiling. Ensure it is securely fastened.
- Connect the chandelier's chain to the canopy and the main rod. The design supports sloped, flat, and vaulted ceilings.
- Feed the electrical wires through the chain and canopy.
5.3 Electrical Connections
- Connect the fixture's live (black or red) wire to the house's live (black) wire using a wire nut.
- Connect the fixture's neutral (white) wire to the house's neutral (white) wire using a wire nut.
- Connect the fixture's ground wire (bare copper or green) to the house's ground wire and the mounting bracket's ground screw.
- If installing with a dimmer switch, the fixture's live wire (L) typically connects to the dimmer's red wire, and the fixture's neutral wire (N) connects to the dimmer's white (neutral) wire. Consult your dimmer's instructions for specific wiring.
- Carefully tuck all wires into the junction box.
5.4 Final Assembly
- Secure the canopy to the mounting bracket, ensuring it sits flush against the ceiling.
- The golden metal robotic arms are pre-assembled. Gently twist and adjust each arm to your preferred orientation, ensuring they are evenly spaced and level.
- Install the five white fabric shades onto the bulb holders.
- Insert E12 candelabra base bulbs (not included) into each socket. Do not exceed 40 watts per bulb. LED bulbs are recommended for energy efficiency.
