Setup
Before first use, ensure all components are present and properly assembled.
1. Attaching the Wheels:
Locate the four swiveling casters and firmly insert them into the designated slots on the base of the vacuum tank until they click into place. This provides mobility for easy transport.

Figure 4: The vacuum features integrated storage for the hose and power cord, enhancing portability and organization.
2. Filter Installation:
The type of filter required depends on whether you are performing wet or dry vacuuming.
- For Dry Use: Install the disposable filter bag or the reusable cloth dry filter. Ensure the cloth filter is secured with the clamp ring. The foam filter should NOT be used for dry vacuuming.
- For Wet Use: Remove any disposable filter bags or cloth filters. Install the foam filter over the filter cage. This filter protects the motor from liquids.

3. Hose and Attachment Connection:
Connect the flexible hose to the appropriate port on the vacuum. For suction, connect the hose to the front port on the tank. For blower function, connect the hose to the orange port on the lid. Attach the desired nozzle (floor, crevice, or gulper) or extension wands to the end of the hose.
Operating Instructions
Your 3-in-1 shop vacuum is designed for various cleaning tasks.
1. Dry Vacuuming:
Ensure the correct filter (disposable bag or reusable cloth filter) is installed. Connect the hose to the suction port. Turn the vacuum on using the large on/off switch. Use the appropriate attachment for the surface you are cleaning. The powerful 4.0 Peak HP motor provides strong suction for debris, dust, and even gravel.
Video 2: This influencer-created video demonstrates the effective dry vacuuming capabilities of the BLACK+DECKER shop vacuum on carpeted stairs using the crevice tool and wide attachment.
2. Wet Vacuuming:
Ensure the foam filter is installed and no dry filters are present. Connect the hose to the suction port. Turn the vacuum on. The vacuum will effortlessly suck up spills and liquid messes. The float valve technology automatically cuts off airflow when the liquid in the tank reaches a predetermined level, preventing overfilling.

3. Blower Function:
To use the blower function, connect the hose to the orange blower port located on the lid of the vacuum. This instantly converts the unit into a powerful blower, suitable for clearing debris from workshops, garages, or outdoor areas.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your vacuum.
1. Emptying the Tank:
Always unplug the vacuum before emptying. Release the large lid latches and carefully lift the motor head assembly. Dispose of collected dry debris or liquid. Clean the inside of the stainless steel tank as needed.
2. Filter Care:
- Disposable Filter Bag: Replace when full or when suction decreases significantly.
- Reusable Cloth Dry Filter: Shake off excess dust or gently tap against a hard surface to clean. If heavily soiled, it can be hand-washed with mild soap and water, then air-dried completely before reinstallation.
- Foam Filter (for wet use): Rinse with water after each wet use and allow to air dry completely before storing or using for dry applications.
3. Hose and Accessory Care:
Inspect the hose and attachments regularly for blockages or damage. Clear any obstructions. Wipe down accessories with a damp cloth as needed.
