4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Taking a Measurement

  1. Ensure your finger is clean and free of nail polish or any foreign matter.
  2. If your hands are cold, rub them together for about 10 seconds to warm them up, as cold fingers can affect accuracy.
  3. Press the power button to turn on the oximeter.
  4. Open the clamp and insert one of your fingers (preferably the index or middle finger) into the rubber opening of the oximeter, ensuring your fingernail faces upwards.
  5. Release the clamp. It is recommended to remain still during measurement.
  6. After a few seconds, the SpO2, Pulse Rate, Plethysmograph, and Perfusion Index will be displayed on the screen.
  7. The device will automatically power off after 6-8 seconds of removing your finger.

4.2 Understanding Readings

  • SpO2 (%): Blood Oxygen Saturation level.
  • PR bpm: Pulse Rate in beats per minute.
  • Plethysmograph: A waveform that indicates the consistency of the pulse. When the wave amplitude is consistent, the pulse oximeter is optimized, and readings can be taken reliably.
  • Perfusion Index (PI%): Indicates the strength of the pulse signal. A PI value greater than 0.2% generally suggests accurate blood oxygen readings.

4.3 Alarm Settings

The oximeter features an alarm function to notify you when your SpO2 or Pulse Rate falls outside predefined limits. To adjust these settings:

  1. With the oximeter on, press and hold the 'M' (Setting) button for 2 seconds to enter the settings menu.
  2. In the menu, press the power button once to switch between menu items (e.g., SpO2 High/Low, PR High/Low, Sound Reminder, Beep, Brightness).
  3. To change a setting value, press and hold the power button for 2 seconds. Use the power button to adjust the value, then press and hold again to confirm.
