1. Introduction

2. Safety Instructions

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, always follow these basic safety precautions:

  • Read all instructions before operating the appliance.
  • Do not immerse the appliance, power cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Ensure the voltage rating of the appliance matches your local power supply (220V).
  • Unplug from the outlet when not in use, before assembling or disassembling parts, and before cleaning.
  • Avoid contact with moving parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Always ensure the bean hopper lid is securely in place before operating.

4. Setup

Before first use, ensure all packaging materials are removed and the grinder is placed on a stable, dry surface.

4.1 Installing the Bean Hopper

  • Align the bean hopper with the top of the grinder base.
  • Rotate the hopper clockwise until it locks into place. Ensure it is securely seated to allow proper operation.

4.2 Power Connection

  • Plug the power cord into a grounded 220V electrical outlet.
  • The LED display will illuminate, indicating the grinder is ready for use.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Filling the Bean Hopper

  • Open the lid of the bean hopper.
  • Pour whole roasted coffee beans into the hopper. Do not overfill beyond the 'MAX' line.
  • Close the hopper lid securely.

5.2 Adjusting Grind Settings

The grinder offers 51 precise grind settings, from very fine for espresso to coarse for French press. Rotate the bean hopper to select your desired grind size.

  • Espresso: Settings 1-10 (Very Fine)
  • Moka Pot: Settings 11-20 (Fine)
  • Siphon: Settings 21-30 (Medium-Fine)
  • Filter: Settings 31-40 (Medium)
  • Pour Over: Settings 41-45 (Medium-Coarse)
  • French Press: Settings 46-51 (Coarse)

5.3 Selecting Grinding Mode and Quantity

The grinder features multiple operating modes and precise dose control via the LED display and functional buttons.

  • Cup Mode (1-12 cups): Press the 'MENU' button to cycle to cup mode. Use the '+' and '-' buttons to select the desired number of cups.
  • Time Mode (1-60 seconds in 0.1s increments): Press the 'MENU' button to cycle to time mode. Use the '+' and '-' buttons to set the grinding duration.
  • Espresso Mode: This mode is activated when a portafilter is inserted into the cradle. The grinder will automatically start when the portafilter engages the micro-switch.
  • Pulse Mode: Press and hold the 'ON/OFF' button to grind manually. Release the button to stop.

5.4 Grinding into a Portafilter or Grinding Chamber

The grinder includes two portafilter cradles (53mm and 58mm) and two dosing rings (53mm and 58mm) for direct grinding into your portafilter. Alternatively, you can grind into the included grinding chamber.

  • For Portafilter: Select the appropriate portafilter cradle (J or K) and/or dosing ring (H or I) for your portafilter size (51-58mm). Place the portafilter into the cradle. The one-touch micro-switch (G) will activate the grinder.
  • For Grinding Chamber: Ensure the grinding chamber (M) is properly seated under the grinding chute. Select your desired mode and quantity, then press the 'ON/OFF' button (E) to start grinding.

Note: You cannot use a portafilter cradle and a dosing ring simultaneously for grinding.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your grinder.

6.1 Cleaning the Conical Burrs

  • Unplug the grinder from the power outlet.
  • Remove the bean hopper.
  • Unlock and lift out the removable upper conical burr (C).

  • Use the included cleaning brush (L) to remove any coffee grounds from both the upper and lower burrs.
  • Reinsert the upper conical burr and lock it into place.

6.2 Cleaning the Grinding Chamber and Chute

  • Empty any remaining coffee grounds from the grinding chamber (M).
  • Use the cleaning brush to clear any grounds from the grinding chute.
  • The grinder features a Coffee Grounds Residual Cleaner (A). Press this mechanism to dislodge any trapped grounds from the chute.

6.3 Anti-static Feature

The grinding chamber is designed with anti-static properties to minimize mess from static cling of coffee grounds.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your grinder, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
