4. Installation
The CHADWICK CW-8101 is designed for non-destructive installation. While it can be installed by oneself, professional installation by a certified car electrician is recommended for optimal performance and safety, especially if you are unfamiliar with car electrical systems. This system is compatible with 12V DC cars.
4.1. General Installation Steps
- Mount the Main Control Unit: Fix the siren unit in a suitable location within the engine compartment. Ensure it is secure and protected from excessive heat or moisture.
- Connect Power: Connect the red wire to the positive (+) terminal of your 12V car battery and the black wire to the negative (-) terminal. The antenna should be suspended and not connected to any terminal.

5. Operation
The car alarm system is operated using the provided remote controls. Familiarize yourself with the buttons and their functions:
- Lock Button (🔒): Press once to arm the system. The siren will sound once, and the system will enter anti-theft state after 5 seconds.
- Unlock Button (🔓): Press once to disarm the system. The siren will sound twice, and the unit will disarm.
- Car Search Function (Mute/Bell Button): Press the "Mute" or "Bell" button to activate the car search function. The siren will sound for 30 seconds. Press any button on the remote to stop the sound.

6. Sensitivity Adjustment
The alarm system features 7 levels of sensitivity. Level 7 is the highest sensitivity, and Level 1 is the lowest. The default setting is Level 4.
6.1. Increasing Sensitivity
- Press the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The siren will sound 4 times, indicating the current setting is Level 4.
- Press the "Lock" button once to increase sensitivity by one level. For example, if the siren sounds 5 times, it is now Level 5. Continue pressing the "Lock" button to reach the desired sensitivity up to Level 7.
- To confirm the setting and exit adjustment mode, either wait 5 seconds without further button presses, or press the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The siren will sound 3 times to confirm exit.
Caution: Level 7 is highly sensitive and may lead to false alarms.
6.2. Reducing Sensitivity
- Press the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The siren will sound 4 times, indicating the current setting is Level 4.
- Press the "Unlock" button once to decrease sensitivity by one level. For example, if the siren sounds 3 times, it is now Level 3. Continue pressing the "Unlock" button to reach the desired sensitivity down to Level 1.
- To confirm the setting and exit adjustment mode, either wait 5 seconds without further button presses, or press the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The siren will sound 3 times to confirm exit.
