2. Safety Information
- Water Pressure: Ensure your water pressure is within the recommended operating range to prevent damage to the timer or your irrigation system.
- Temperature: Do not expose the device to freezing temperatures. Disconnect and store indoors during winter months to prevent damage.
- Battery Safety: Use only specified 1.5V AA alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries. Dispose of batteries properly. Ensure the battery compartment is securely sealed to maintain waterproofing.
- Child Lock: Utilize the child lock feature to prevent accidental operation by children.
- Installation: Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks. Use the provided Teflon tape for a better seal.

5. Setup Guide
5.1 Physical Installation
- Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment and insert 4 x 1.5V AA batteries. Ensure correct polarity. Securely close the compartment to maintain the waterproof seal.
- Connect to Faucet: Screw the watering timer onto your outdoor faucet. The timer is designed for a 3/4'' tap connection. If needed, use the provided 1/2'' tap adjuster. Apply Teflon tape to the threads for a leak-proof seal.
- Connect Hose: Attach your garden hose to the water outlet at the bottom of the timer.

5.2 App Pairing and Configuration
- Download App: Download the "Smart Life" or "Tuya" app from your smartphone's app store. Register or log in to your account.
- Enter Pairing Mode:
- Press and hold the "OK" button for 3 seconds to enter OFF mode.
- While in OFF mode, press and hold the WiFi button (bottom right) for 3 seconds until the WiFi icon on the display blinks. This indicates pairing mode.
- Add Device in App: Open the app, click "+" to add a device. The app should automatically discover the "Valve Controller". If not, select "Add Manually" and search for "Valve Controller" or "Water Timer".
- Connect to WiFi: Enter your 2.4G WiFi network credentials. Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4G WiFi network during pairing.
- Complete Pairing: Once connected, the timer's display will automatically synchronize with the current time and date from your phone.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Manual Control
The timer can be operated manually directly from the device, even without app connection.
- Activate Manual Mode: Press and hold the "MANUAL" button (bottom left) for 3 seconds. The display will show "ON" or "OFF".
- Set Duration: Use the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the watering duration from 1 minute to 24 hours.
- Confirm: Press "OK" to start manual watering. The timer will run for the set duration and then automatically turn off.
- Stop Manually: To stop manual watering before the set time, press the "MANUAL" button again.

6.2 App Control & Scheduling
The Smart Life / Tuya app provides comprehensive control and scheduling options.
- Access Control: Open the app and select your "Valve Controller" device.
- Set Schedules:
- Normal Schedule (Timed Irrigation): Set specific start and end times for watering on selected days. You can create up to 20 different schedules.
- Cycle Schedule (Periodic Irrigation): Define a period (e.g., 8 AM to 5 PM) and set a water duration (e.g., 5 minutes) and a pause duration (e.g., 30 minutes). The timer will repeat this cycle within the defined period. This is ideal for deep soaking.
- Smart Rain Delay: The app integrates with local weather forecasts. You can enable automatic rain delay or manually set a delay for 24, 48, or 72 hours.
- Voice Control: Link your Smart Life/Tuya account to Alexa or Google Home. Use voice commands like "Alexa, turn on the smart water timer" or "Hey Google, turn off the sprinkler."
- Irrigation History: The app records the time and duration of each watering session, providing a history for monitoring and analysis.

7. Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: Monitor the battery level via the device display or the app. Replace all 4 AA batteries when the indicator shows low power to ensure continuous operation.
- Filter Cleaning: The timer has a built-in metal filter to prevent debris from entering. Periodically remove the filter and rinse it under running water to clear any accumulated particles.
- Winter Storage: Before the first frost, disconnect the timer from the faucet and hose. Remove the batteries. Store the timer indoors in a dry, frost-free location to prevent damage from freezing water.
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the timer with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
8. Troubleshooting
