5. Operating and Adjustments

5.1 Bridge Height Adjustment

The overall string action can be adjusted by rotating the thumbwheels on the bridge posts. Turn clockwise to lower the bridge and counter-clockwise to raise it. Adjust until the desired string height is achieved without fret buzz.

5.2 Intonation Adjustment (GM005 Bridge)

Each saddle on the GM005 bridge has a small screw for intonation adjustment. Use a small screwdriver to move the saddle forward or backward to set the correct intonation for each string. Check intonation at the 12th fret harmonic and fretted note.

5.3 Fine Tuning (TP-6 Tailpiece)

The TP-6 tailpiece features individual fine tuners for each string. After initial tuning with the machine heads, use these fine tuners for precise pitch adjustments. Turn the small knobs to slightly raise or lower the pitch of each string.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the bridge and tailpiece with a soft, dry cloth after use to remove sweat and grime. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
  • Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of graphite or a specialized lubricant to the roller saddles to ensure smooth string movement and reduce friction.
  • Inspection: Regularly check all screws and posts for tightness. Ensure the roller saddles move freely.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Tuning Instability

  • Check String Installation: Ensure strings are properly wound on tuning pegs and seated correctly in the nut and saddles.
  • Lubricate Saddles: Apply lubricant to the roller saddles to minimize friction.
  • Nut Friction: If tuning issues persist, check the guitar's nut for binding.

7.2 String Buzz

  • Adjust Bridge Height: Slightly raise the bridge using the thumbwheels.
  • Check Neck Relief: Ensure the guitar's neck has appropriate relief.
  • Saddle Height: Verify individual saddle heights are correct.

7.3 Fine Tuners Not Responding

  • String Tension: Ensure there is sufficient string tension for the fine tuners to operate effectively.
  • Clean Threads: Check for any debris in the fine tuner threads and clean if necessary.
