2. Setup and Pairing

This section details the steps to pair your PRYMEBLU BT-PTT-Z-Smart button with a PRYMEBLU V2 wireless adapter. Ensure all devices are powered off before beginning the pairing process.

Important Pre-pairing Steps:

1. Power Off All Devices: Turn off your two-way radio, PRYMEBLU V2 adapter, Bluetooth headset or wireless audio accessory, and the PRYMEBLU PTT button.
2. Disable Other Bluetooth Devices: Temporarily disable Bluetooth on any nearby personal devices (phones, tablets) to prevent interference during pairing. These can be re-enabled after successful pairing.
3. Pair Headset to Adapter First: The PRYMEBLU V2 adapter must first be paired with a Bluetooth headset or a PRYME wireless audio accessory (e.g., BTH-550-MAX, BTH-600-MAX, BTH-300-MAX, BTH-700-MAX, BTH-800-MAX, or BTH-900-MAX headsets). Refer to the separate instruction video for pairing the headset to the wireless adapter.

Pairing the PTT Button to the Adapter:

1. Power On PTT Button: Locate the power switch on your PRYME PTT button. Depending on the model, it may be on the outside or inside. If inside, gently rotate the housing counterclockwise to open and use a ballpoint pen or paper clip to move the switch to the 'on' position.
2. Enter Adapter Headset Pairing Mode: Hold down the button on the PRYMEBLU V2 wireless adapter while powering it on. For adapters with internal batteries, turn on the adapter's power switch while holding its button. For adapters powered by the radio, simply power on the radio while holding the adapter's button. Continue holding until the LED light on the adapter flashes two times per second, then release the button.
3. Enter Adapter PTT Pairing Mode: Press and release the button on the adapter again. The LED indicator on the adapter will now flash three times per second, indicating it is ready to connect to the wireless PTT button.
4. Complete Pairing: Simply power on the PRYMEBLU wireless PTT button. As soon as the button is powered on, the LED on the adapter will revert to a single flash per second, indicating that the devices are now successfully connected.

Once paired, the button and adapter will remember each other even if powered off or restarted. However, you must power on the Bluetooth headset or other wireless audio accessory first and allow it to reconnect to the adapter before using the PTT button.

3. Operating Instructions

After successful pairing of your headset, adapter, and PTT button, you can begin using the system for communication.

Transmitting Audio:

• To transmit, press and hold either the PRYMEBLU wireless PTT button or the PTT button located on the PRYMEBLU adapter.
• Release the button to stop transmitting.

Note: The wireless PTT button will only cause the radio to transmit if an audio accessory (like a headset) is also connected to the adapter.

Receiving Audio:

Once the headset and PTT button are both connected to the adapter, you should hear received (RX) audio through your paired headset.

The PTT button can be attached to various surfaces, such as a steering wheel, for convenient access.
