Setup and Installation

Important Safety Information: Before beginning any installation, ensure the power to the ceiling fan circuit is turned OFF at the circuit breaker or fuse box. Failure to do so may result in electrical shock or serious injury.

  1. Prepare the Fan: Ensure the ceiling fan's light is in the ON position and the fan speed is set to HIGH via the pull chains (if applicable) before installing the receiver. This ensures the remote can control these functions.
  2. Access Wiring: Carefully lower the ceiling fan canopy to expose the wiring connections.
  3. Match Dip Switches: Locate the dip switches inside the battery compartment of the remote transmitter and on the receiver unit. Use a small tool (like a pen) to set the 4 dip switches on both the remote and the receiver to the exact same pattern. This ensures the remote and receiver communicate correctly. If controlling multiple fans, each fan's remote and receiver pair should have a unique dip switch setting.
  4. Image showing the location of the dip switches inside the remote control's battery compartment.

  5. Wire the Receiver: Refer to the wiring diagram below. Connect the receiver wires to the fan and house wiring using the provided wire nuts. Ensure all connections are secure.
    • Connect the Black wire from the receiver to the Black (Live) wire from the ceiling.
    • Connect the White wire from the receiver to the White (Neutral) wire from the ceiling.
    • Connect the Blue wire from the receiver to the Blue (Light) wire from the fan.
    • Connect the Black wire from the receiver to the Black (Fan) wire from the fan.
    • Ensure proper grounding if applicable.
  6. Wiring diagram for the ceiling fan remote control receiver, showing connections to power source, fan, and light. Also shows receiver placement within the canopy.

  7. Position the Receiver: Carefully tuck the receiver into the fan canopy. The antenna should be positioned outside the canopy for optimal signal reception.
  8. Secure Canopy: Reattach the fan canopy securely.
  9. Restore Power: Turn the power back ON at the circuit breaker.
  10. Test Functionality: Test the remote control to ensure all functions (fan speeds, light ON/OFF, dimming) operate correctly.
