4. Setup
4.1 Initial Connection
Before connecting the battery, ensure all loads are disconnected. Connect the positive terminal of the battery to the positive terminal of your system and the negative terminal to the negative terminal. Ensure connections are secure and tight to prevent arcing and overheating.
4.2 Parallel and Series Connection
This 12.8V 135Ah LiFePO4 battery supports both parallel and series connections for capacity and voltage expansion, respectively.
- Parallel Connection: There is no limit to the number of batteries that can be connected in parallel to increase total capacity (Ah) while maintaining 12.8V. Ensure all batteries are at a similar state of charge before connecting in parallel.
- Series Connection: This battery supports series connection. However, for optimal performance and safety in series configurations (e.g., 24V, 36V, 48V systems), it is recommended to use KEPWORTH batteries specifically designed for higher voltage systems. If connecting in series, ensure all batteries are of the same model, capacity, and age, and are fully balanced before connection.

- Cleaning: Use a dry cloth to wipe the battery casing. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your KEPWORTH battery, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Battery not charging | Charger incompatibility; BMS protection activated (e.g., low temperature, over-discharge); Loose connections. | Ensure charger is LiFePO4 compatible and outputs 14.6V. Check battery temperature. Verify all connections are secure. If BMS is in protection mode, remove load and allow battery to recover. |
| Low voltage output | Battery discharged; Overload; BMS protection activated. | Charge the battery. Reduce load. Check for short circuits or excessive current draw. |
| Bluetooth app not connecting | Bluetooth disabled on device; App not updated; Battery too far. | Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone. Update the KEPWORTH app to the latest version. Move closer to the battery. Restart the app and your device. |
| Battery overheating | Excessive charge/discharge current; Poor ventilation. | Reduce current draw or charging rate. Ensure adequate airflow around the battery. The BMS will typically cut off operation if temperatures exceed safe limits. |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact KEPWORTH customer support.
