4. Setup and Installation

The SURRYN M501 Smart Door Lock is designed for simple, DIY installation, typically taking about 5 minutes without the need for drilling new holes.

4.1 Before Installation

• Ensure your door is compatible with a standard European cylinder lock.
• Confirm you have 3x CR123A batteries ready for insertion.
• Familiarize yourself with your existing door lock mechanism.

4.2 Installation Steps

1. Remove Existing Cylinder: Unscrew and remove your current door lock cylinder. This usually involves removing a single screw on the side of the door that secures the cylinder.
2. Insert M501 Lock Cylinder: Slide the SURRYN M501 lock cylinder into the existing cylinder hole in your door. Ensure the key barrel is properly aligned with the mortise lock.

3. Secure the Lock: Use the provided screws to secure the M501 lock cylinder in place through the side of the door.
4. Install Decorative Ring and Mounting Plate: Attach the black decorative ring and mounting plate on the interior side of the door, ensuring they are flush and secure.
5. Insert Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the interior side of the lock and insert 3x CR123A batteries, observing correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
6. Test Functionality: Before closing the door, test the lock with a mechanical key and attempt to rotate the interior knob to ensure smooth operation.

5.1 Unlocking Methods

The SURRYN M501 Smart Door Lock offers several convenient ways to unlock your door:

• Fingerprint: Place your registered fingerprint on the sensor. The lock will verify and unlock.

• Mobile Application (Tuya/Smartlife APP): Connect the lock to your smartphone via Bluetooth. Use the Tuya or Smartlife app to remotely unlock the door.

  Note: To control the lock via your phone network (Wi-Fi), you will need to purchase a Tuya Zigbee Gateway separately. The lock supports both Tuya and Smartlife applications.

• Password: If equipped with a keypad module (e.g., F101 Keypad), enter your programmed password.

• User Management: Add and manage fingerprints, passwords, and authorized users.
• Auto-Lock Setting: The lock can be set to automatically lock the door after a specified time via the app.
• Temporary Access: Grant temporary keyless access to guests or service providers.
• Security: Utilizes OTP (One-Time Password) technology, where each unlock uses a different, secure password.

6.1 Battery Replacement

The M501 Smart Door Lock is powered by 3x CR123A batteries. When the battery level is low, the lock will provide an audible or visual alert. Replace batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation.

1. Locate the battery compartment on the interior side of the lock.
2. Open the compartment cover.
3. Remove the old CR123A batteries.
4. Insert new 3x CR123A batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
5. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Always use high-quality CR123A batteries for optimal performance and longevity. Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
