The coffee maker automatically keeps your coffee warm after brewing. The duration of the keep warm cycle is typically 30 minutes to 1 hour, after which the unit will automatically shut off for safety and energy saving. Refer to the display for remaining keep warm time.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure optimal performance and longevity of your coffee maker.
6.1 Daily Cleaning
- Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning.
- Wash the carafe, filter basket, and removable water tank in warm, soapy water after each use. These parts are generally top-rack dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker, including the warming plate and control panel, with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
6.2 Descaling
Mineral deposits from water can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance and taste. The coffee maker features a descaling alert to notify you when descaling is needed. Descale regularly, especially in areas with hard water.
- Prepare Descaling Solution: Mix 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts cold water. Alternatively, use a commercial descaling solution designed for coffee makers, following the product's instructions.
- Fill Water Tank: Pour the descaling solution into the removable water tank up to the MAX fill line.
- Start Descaling Cycle: Place an empty paper filter in the filter basket and the empty carafe on the warming plate. Press the descaling icon (if available) or initiate a regular brew cycle.
- Partial Cycle: Allow half of the solution to brew through, then turn off the coffee maker and let it stand for 15-20 minutes to allow the solution to work.
- Complete Cycle: Turn the coffee maker back on and allow the remaining solution to brew through.
- Rinse Cycles: After the descaling cycle is complete, discard the solution. Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water and run at least two full brew cycles with only water to rinse out any remaining descaling solution.
