Setup and Installation

Installation Steps:
- Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker or fuse box that controls the power to the light fixture location. Turn off the power completely. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
- Prepare Mounting Plate: Attach the mounting plate (B) to the junction box in the ceiling using the mounting screws (C) provided. Ensure the plate is securely fastened.
- Wiring Connections:
- Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from the junction box using a wire nut (D).
- Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the junction box using a wire nut (D).
- Connect the ground wire (bare copper or green) from the fixture to the ground wire from the junction box (or to the green ground screw on the mounting plate) using a wire nut (D).
- Carefully tuck all wires into the junction box.
- Attach Fixture Body: Align the fixture body (A) with the mounting plate (B) and secure it using the decorative nuts (E) or screws provided, ensuring a snug fit against the ceiling.
- Install Bulbs: Insert five (5) incandescent bulbs into the sockets. Do not exceed the maximum wattage of 60 watts per bulb.
- Install Diffuser: Carefully place the glass diffuser/shade (F) into the fixture body, securing it according to the fixture's design (e.g., twisting into place, using clips, or securing with additional decorative elements).
- Restore Power: Once installation is complete and all components are secure, turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.
Operating Instructions
The Z-Lite 1948F20-MB Harden Flush Mount fixture operates using a standard wall switch. Once installed and powered, simply toggle the wall switch to turn the light on or off.
Maintenance
Cleaning:
- Always turn off power to the fixture before cleaning.
- Wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth.
