2. Safety Information

  • Always keep the emergency keys in a secure location away from the safe. Do not store them inside the safe.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the digital keypad.
  2. Insert the required batteries (typically 4 AA batteries, not included) according to the polarity markings.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover.

5.2 Initial Code Setup

Upon first use, the safe will have a default factory code. It is crucial to change this immediately.

  1. With the safe door open, press the internal reset button (usually a small red button on the inside of the door).
  2. Enter your desired new code (3-8 digits) on the keypad.
  3. Press the '#' or 'ENTER' button to confirm. The indicator light will confirm successful programming.
  4. Test the new code multiple times with the door open before closing it.

5.3 Mounting the Safe

The safe features pre-drilled holes for secure mounting.

  1. Choose a suitable location on a wall, floor, or shelf. Ensure the surface is sturdy enough to support the safe's weight.
  2. Position the safe and mark the locations for the mounting holes.
  3. Drill pilot holes using an appropriate drill bit for your mounting surface.
  4. Align the safe with the drilled holes and secure it using the provided mounting bolts.
  5. Tighten all bolts firmly.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Opening the Safe with Digital Keypad

  1. Enter your programmed user code on the digital keypad.
  2. Press the '#' or 'ENTER' button.
  3. The indicator light will confirm successful entry. Within 5 seconds, turn the handle clockwise to open the safe door.

6.2 Changing User Codes

  1. Open the safe door.
  2. Press the internal reset button.
  3. Enter your new desired code (3-8 digits).
  4. Press '#' or 'ENTER' to confirm.
  5. Verify the new code with the door open.

6.3 Using the Drop Slot

The drop slot allows for quick and secure deposits without opening the main safe door.

  1. Lift the outer flap of the drop slot.
  2. Place items such as cash, envelopes, or small documents into the slot.
  3. Close the outer flap. The items will fall into the main compartment of the safe.

6.4 Emergency Key Access

In case of battery failure or forgotten code, use the emergency key.

  1. Locate the emergency keyhole, usually concealed behind the keypad or a small cover.
  2. Insert the emergency key and turn it while simultaneously turning the handle to open the safe.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the safe exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries promptly when the low battery indicator appears to prevent lockout.
  • Door Mechanism: Periodically check the door bolts and hinges for smooth operation. Do not lubricate the lock mechanism.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem: Safe does not open with code.
Solution:
  • Ensure batteries are fresh and correctly installed.
