1. Important Safety Instructions

Please read all instructions carefully before using the appliance and retain them for future reference. Incorrect operation can cause damage to the appliance and injury to users.

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking and Initial Cleaning

  1. Remove all packaging materials and promotional labels from the machine.
  2. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
  3. Wash the water tank, portafilter, filter baskets, measuring spoon, and drip tray with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.

3.2 Filling the Water Tank

  1. Remove the water tank from the back of the machine.
  2. Fill the tank with fresh, filtered water up to the MAX level indicator. Using filtered water is recommended to prevent scale buildup and improve coffee taste.
  3. Place the water tank back into its position, ensuring it is securely seated.

3.3 First Use / Priming the Machine

Before making coffee for the first time, or if the machine has not been used for a long period, it is important to prime the system.

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled.
  2. Place an empty cup under the portafilter outlet.
  3. Press the Power button to turn on the machine. The indicator lights will flash as the machine heats up.
  4. Once the lights are solid, indicating the machine is ready, press the 1-cup button. Water will flow through the portafilter. Let it run for about 30 seconds.
  5. Repeat this process for the steam function: turn the steam knob to release steam for a few seconds.
  6. The machine is now primed and ready for use.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Making Espresso

  1. Ensure the machine is powered on and preheated (indicator lights solid).
  2. Select the appropriate filter basket (1-cup or 2-cup) and place it into the portafilter.
  3. Fill the filter basket with finely ground espresso coffee using the measuring spoon.
  4. Use the integrated tamper to gently press the coffee grounds evenly. Do not over-tamp.
  5. Attach the portafilter to the brewing head by aligning it and twisting firmly to the right until secure.
  6. Place your preheated cup(s) on the drip tray under the portafilter spouts. Preheating cups helps maintain coffee temperature.
  7. Press the 1-cup or 2-cup button according to your desired serving. The machine will automatically brew the espresso and stop.
  8. Once brewing is complete, carefully remove the portafilter and discard the used coffee grounds.

4.2 Frothing Milk for Cappuccino and Latte

  1. Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) up to one-third full.
  2. Press the Steam function button. The indicator light will flash as the machine heats up for steam. Once solid, it's ready.
  3. Position the steam nozzle just below the surface of the milk.
  4. Turn the steam knob to release steam. Move the pitcher up and down to incorporate air and create foam.
  5. Once the desired foam consistency and temperature are reached, turn off the steam knob and then press the Steam function button to deactivate.
  6. Wipe the steam nozzle immediately with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.

5. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your espresso machine.

5.1 Daily Cleaning

  • After each use, remove and clean the portafilter and filter basket.
  • Empty and rinse the drip tray.
  • Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Clean the steam nozzle immediately after frothing milk.

5.2 Water Tank Cleaning

The 1.1 L removable water tank should be cleaned regularly to prevent algae or mineral buildup.

  • Remove the water tank and wash it with warm, soapy water.
  • Rinse thoroughly and refill with fresh, filtered water.

5.3 Descaling

Descaling is crucial to remove mineral deposits that can affect machine performance and coffee taste. It is recommended to descale every 1 to 3 months, depending on water hardness and frequency of use.

  1. Use a commercial descaling solution specifically designed for espresso machines, following the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Fill the water tank with the descaling solution mixed with water as per instructions.
  3. Place a large container under the portafilter and steam nozzle.
  4. Run several cycles of brewing and steaming until the water tank is empty.
  5. Rinse the water tank thoroughly and refill with fresh water.
  6. Run several cycles with fresh water to flush out any remaining descaling solution.

6. Troubleshooting
