3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation

  1. Unscrew the bottom cap of the otoscope handle.
  2. Insert two (2) AA batteries into the handle, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Batteries are not included and must be purchased separately.
  3. Screw the bottom cap back on securely.

3.2. Attaching a Speculum

  1. Select an appropriately sized disposable speculum.
  2. Gently twist or push the speculum onto the head of the otoscope until it is firmly attached.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Powering On/Off

To turn the otoscope on, slide the power switch located on the handle upwards. To turn it off, slide the switch downwards.

4.2. Performing an Examination

  1. Ensure a clean, disposable speculum is attached.
  2. Turn on the otoscope light.
  3. Gently pull the outer ear (pinna) upwards and backwards to straighten the ear canal.
  4. Carefully insert the speculum into the ear canal. Do not force the speculum.
  5. Look through the viewing lens to observe the ear canal and eardrum. The 3x magnification will enhance visibility.
  6. After examination, remove the speculum and dispose of it properly.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Cleaning the Otoscope

  • After each use, wipe the exterior of the otoscope with a soft, damp cloth.
