1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the AZBME Replacement Remote Control, designed for use with various Mitsubishi Electric AC Air Conditioner models. This remote control offers direct functionality without requiring complex programming.

Important Note: This remote control only displays temperature in Celsius.

2. Setup and Battery Installation

The remote control requires two 1.5V AAA batteries (not included). No programming is required for initial use.

Battery Installation Steps:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
  2. Slide the battery cover downwards to open it.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Slide the battery cover back into place until it clicks securely.

3. Operating Instructions

This remote control provides direct access to various functions of your Mitsubishi Electric AC unit. Point the remote control directly at the air conditioner's receiver when operating.

Key Functions:

  • ON/OFF: Powers the air conditioner on or off.
  • TEMP +/-: Adjusts the desired temperature (displayed in Celsius).
  • MODE: Cycles through operating modes (e.g., Cool, Heat, Dry, Fan).
  • FAN: Adjusts fan speed.
  • WIDE VANE / L-VANE-R: Controls the horizontal and vertical airflow direction.
  • ECONO COOL: Activates energy-saving cooling operation.
  • POWERFUL: Initiates rapid cooling or heating.
  • INDIRECT/DIRECT: Adjusts airflow direction for indirect or direct comfort.
  • SLEEP: Activates sleep mode for comfortable nighttime operation.
  • SMART SET: Accesses pre-set comfort settings.
  • NATURAL FLOW: Simulates natural breeze.
  • TIMER ON/OFF: Sets or cancels the on/off timer.
  • WEEKLY TIMER ON/OFF: Activates or deactivates the weekly timer schedule.
  • EDIT/SEND: Used for editing and sending timer settings.
  • SET / CANCEL: Confirms or cancels settings.
  • DAY / TIME / TEMP: Buttons for setting specific parameters within timer functions.
  • DELETE: Deletes timer settings.
  • °C/°F CLOCK RESET: Resets the clock and potentially switches temperature display (though this remote is Celsius-only).

4. Troubleshooting

If the remote control does not function as expected, please follow these troubleshooting steps:

Remote Control Not Working:

  1. Check Batteries: Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with the proper polarity and are not depleted. Replace with fresh AAA batteries if necessary.
  2. Line of Sight: Make sure there is a clear path between the remote control and the air conditioner's receiver. Obstructions can block the signal.
  3. Initial Pairing (if applicable): Although this remote is generally 'direct use', if issues persist, try the following: Aim the remote control at the signal receiver on your air conditioner. Press and hold the OFF/ON button for 3 seconds to display the current custom code. Press the temperature button (+ or -) to change the code (01-21). Press OFF/ON again to confirm the code when the air conditioner reacts.
  4. Verify Compatibility: Confirm that your air conditioner model is listed in the compatible models section of this manual.
