Huayong XSY-AT1 2.2KW 220V Frequency Inverter User Manual

Model: XSY-AT1 | Brand: Huayong

1. Introduction

The Huayong XSY-AT1 is a variable frequency drive (VFD) designed to convert single-phase 220V input into three-phase 220V output, allowing for precise control over motor speed and operation. This inverter supports a frequency range from 0-50Hz by default, with the capability to be set up to 400Hz for specific applications like spindle motors. It is suitable for a variety of industrial applications requiring motor speed control.

Key features include:

  • Rich digital and analog control terminals for versatile control.
  • Strong anti-jamming capability for reliable operation.
  • User-friendly keyboard design with a clear digital display.
  • Detachable control panel for convenient remote operation.
  • Efficient heat dissipation design for extended service life and low-noise operation.

  • Failure to follow instructions may result in death, severe injury, or property loss.
  • Before wiring, ensure the power supply is completely disconnected.
  • Do not connect the U/V/W output terminals to an AC power supply. Doing so will cause irreparable damage to the inverter.
  • The inverter must not be installed in environments with flammable materials to prevent fire hazards.
  • The ground terminal of the inverter must be properly grounded.
  • Avoid installing the unit in environments with explosive gases to prevent explosion risks.
  • Only qualified professionals should perform wiring. The inverter contains high voltage internally; do not open the casing without authorization.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Upon receiving the inverter, carefully unpack it and inspect for any signs of damage during transit. Ensure all components are present, including the inverter unit and any included cables.

3.2 Mounting

Mount the inverter in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, excessive dust, corrosive gases, and flammable materials. Ensure sufficient space around the unit for proper heat dissipation. The design incorporates porous heat dissipation for optimal performance.

3.3 Wiring

All wiring must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local and national electrical codes.

  1. Power Disconnection: Before commencing any wiring, ensure the main power supply to the inverter is completely disconnected and locked out.
  2. Grounding: Connect the ground terminal of the inverter securely to an earth ground. This is critical for safety.
  3. Input Power: Connect the single-phase 220V AC input power to the designated input terminals.
  4. Motor Connection: Connect the three-phase motor to the U, V, W output terminals of the inverter. Do not connect these output terminals to an AC power supply.
  5. Motor Type: This inverter is designed for asynchronous motors. Do not connect excitation motors, as this can damage the inverter.
  6. Control Panel Cable: The XSY-AT1 model includes a 1.5-meter long cable for the detachable control panel. The BT1 version includes a 2-meter cable, which can be extended by connecting multiple cables.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Operation

The inverter features a user-friendly control panel with a digital display and buttons for various functions. Ensure the indicator lamp is off and power is confirmed off before making any parameter changes that require a power cycle.

  • RUN Button: Initiates motor operation.
  • STOP/RESET Button: Stops motor operation and resets any fault conditions.
  • FWD/REV Buttons: Controls the forward and reverse direction of the motor.
  • DISP Button: Toggles display modes.
  • PROG Button: Enters programming mode.
  • FUNC/DATA Button: Used for function selection and data entry.
  • Up/Down Arrows: Navigate through menus and adjust parameter values.
  • Rotary Knob: Fine-tunes frequency or parameter values.

4.2 Frequency Setting

The factory default maximum frequency for this inverter is 50Hz. To achieve higher speeds, such as for spindle motors, the maximum frequency parameter must be adjusted.

Setting for 400Hz Operation (Example for Spindle Motors):

To set the maximum frequency to 400Hz, adjust the following parameters:

  • Set parameter P001 = 400
  • Set parameter P003 = 200
  • Set parameter P006 = 400

Setting for 70Hz Operation (Example):

To set the maximum frequency to 70Hz, adjust the following parameters:

  • Set parameter P001 = 70
  • Set parameter P003 = 35
  • Set parameter P006 = 70

Note: For ZW-BT1 and S2/S2B models, specific spindle motor settings may include setting 01-03, 01-04, 01-05 all to 400Hz, and 01-15 to 6. Always refer to the specific model's detailed parameter list if available.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable operation of your frequency inverter.

  • Cleaning: Keep the inverter clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation openings are not obstructed to allow for proper heat dissipation. The porous design aids in cooling.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear or damage.
  • Internal Access: The inverter contains high voltage components. Do not open the casing for internal maintenance or repairs. All internal servicing must be performed by qualified service personnel.

6. Troubleshooting

This section provides general guidance for common issues. For complex problems, contact qualified service personnel.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Inverter does not power on.No input power; loose wiring; internal fault.Check power supply and connections. Ensure power is applied. If problem persists, seek professional assistance.
