2. Safety Precautions
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses and insulated gloves when handling batteries.
- Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
- Do not disassemble, puncture, or damage the battery.
- Keep the battery away from heat sources, open flames, and flammable materials.
- Ensure proper ventilation during charging and discharging.
- Use only compatible chargers designed for LiFePO4 batteries.
- In case of fire, use a Class D fire extinguisher. Water can exacerbate lithium battery fires.
3. Setup and Installation
Before installation, ensure the battery is at room temperature and fully charged. Verify all connections are secure and correct polarity is observed.
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the battery from its packaging. Inspect the battery for any visible damage. If damage is found, contact GLCE ENERGY support immediately.
3.2 Battery Dimensions and Weight
The battery dimensions are 20.55 x 9.45 x 8.58 inches (522mm x 240mm x 218mm) and it weighs approximately 56.9 pounds (25.8 kg). Ensure your installation location can accommodate these dimensions and weight.

Figure 2: Battery Specifications and Dimensions. This image displays key specifications such as battery type (LiFePO4), voltage (12.8V), capacity (300AH), weight (25.8kg), cycle life (15000+), and energy (3840Wh), along with a diagram showing the battery's physical dimensions.
3.3 Wiring Configurations
The GLCE ENERGY 12V 300Ah LiFePO4 battery supports both series and parallel connections for increased voltage or capacity. For parallel connections, up to 4 batteries are supported. For series connections, up to 2 batteries are supported (24V system). It is recommended to use batteries of the same capacity and brand, purchased within 3 months of each other, for optimal performance in series/parallel configurations.

Figure 3: Serial and Parallel Connection Diagram. This diagram illustrates how to connect multiple batteries in series and parallel to a solar panel, MPPT controller, inverter, and various loads, showing support for up to 4 parallel and 2 series connections.
3.4 Charging Methods
The battery can be charged using solar panels, a generator, or a dedicated LiFePO4 battery charger. Always ensure the charging voltage and current are within the battery's specifications.

Figure 4: Charging Options. This image depicts three common methods for charging the battery: via solar panels, a generator, or a dedicated battery charger.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Battery Management System (BMS)
The integrated 200A BMS protects the battery from common failures such as over-voltage, short circuit, over-discharge, over-current, over-charge, and over-heating. This system ensures the stable chemical structure of the lithium iron phosphate cells, contributing to the battery's safety and longevity.

Figure 5: BMS Protection Features. This image highlights the various protections offered by the intelligent BMS, including over-voltage, short circuit, over-discharge, over-current, over-charge, and over-heating protection.
4.2 Cycle Life and Longevity
The battery offers a long service life of up to 10 years and 4000 to 15000 deep cycles. Specifically, it provides 4000 cycles at 100% Depth of Discharge (DOD), over 8000 cycles at 80% DOD, and up to 15000+ cycles at 60% DOD. Proper usage is key to achieving these ideal cycle life figures.
4.3 Operating Temperature
The battery can operate in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 55°C (-4°F to 131°F) and can be recharged at temperatures from -5°C to 55°C (23°F to 131°F).
5. Maintenance
- Regularly inspect battery terminals for corrosion and ensure connections are tight.
- Keep the battery clean and free from dust and debris.
- Store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use, ideally at a partial state of charge (50-70%).
- Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Do not attempt to open or service the battery yourself. Refer to qualified personnel for any repairs.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Battery not charging | Charger incompatibility, loose connections, BMS protection activated. | Ensure correct LiFePO4 charger is used. Check all cable connections. Allow battery to cool if BMS thermal protection is active. |
| Low voltage output | Over-discharge protection, excessive load, faulty wiring. | Reduce load. Recharge battery. Inspect wiring for damage or incorrect connections. |
| Battery overheating | Overload, poor ventilation, high ambient temperature. | Reduce load. Ensure adequate ventilation around the battery. Move to a cooler environment if possible. |
If you encounter issues not listed here or if the suggested solutions do not resolve the problem, please contact GLCE ENERGY customer support.
