4. Setup

The PTH-24E detector is designed for simple plug-and-play installation.

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the detector and user manual from the packaging.
  2. Placement: Choose a standard AC outlet (100-220V) in an area where gas detection is critical, such as near gas appliances, in bedrooms, or living areas. Ensure the detector is not obstructed and has good air circulation. Avoid placing it directly above heat sources or in areas with high humidity (e.g., directly above a shower).
  3. Plug-in: Plug the detector directly into the chosen AC outlet. The device will power on automatically.
  4. Warm-up: Allow approximately 30 seconds for the detector to warm up and stabilize. The display will show readings for CO, gas, temperature, and humidity.

Testing the Detector

To ensure the unit is functioning correctly, a simple test can be performed:

  1. Plug the CO & Gas Detector into an outlet and wait approximately 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Place a lit cigarette near the detector's vent. You will soon see a change in the CO value or Gas Level on the display. This proves that the unit is working properly.

NOTE: When detecting exhaust duct or stove, if your car engine, stove gas are burning clean, then it will always show 0000 PPM.
