Setup

1. Charging the Battery

The camera has a built-in 400 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Before first use, fully charge the camera.

  • Locate the USB port under the waterproof seal on the side of the camera.
  • Connect the provided USB charging cable to the camera's USB port and the other end to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
  • The charging indicator light will illuminate. Once fully charged (approximately 2 hours), the light will change or turn off.
  • A full charge provides approximately 1.5 hours of continuous recording time.

2. Inserting the TF Card

A 32GB TF (MicroSD) card is included for storage.

  • Open the waterproof seal covering the USB port and TF card slot.
  • Insert the TF card into the slot with the gold contacts facing down, until it clicks into place.
  • To remove, gently push the card in until it springs out.
  • Important: Always ensure the waterproof seal is securely closed before any contact with water.

3. Initial Waterproof Seal Check

Before using the camera underwater, it is crucial to perform a seal check to prevent water damage.

  • Ensure the waterproof seal covering the USB port and TF card slot is completely and tightly closed. Press firmly along the entire edge of the seal.
  • Submerge the camera in a shallow basin of water for a few minutes without the TF card inserted.
  • Remove the camera and dry it thoroughly. Open the seal and check for any signs of water ingress.
  • If water is found, do not use the camera underwater and contact customer support.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the On/Off/Return Key for a few seconds.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the On/Off/Return Key again until the screen turns off.

Taking Photos

  • Ensure the camera is in photo mode (indicated by an icon on the screen). If not, press the Menu Key to navigate and select photo mode.
  • Frame your shot using the 2.4" IPS display.
  • Press the Shutter/OK Key to take a 48MP photo.
  • Digital Zoom: Use the Zoom In and Zoom Out keys to adjust the 10x digital zoom.
  • Fill Light: The built-in fill light can be activated for better photos in dark environments. Check the menu for settings.

Recording Videos

  • Ensure the camera is in video mode. If not, press the Menu Key to navigate and select video mode.
  • Press the Shutter/OK Key once to start recording 1080P HD video. A recording indicator will appear on the screen.
  • Press the Shutter/OK Key again to stop recording.

Underwater Use

The Mafiti camera is waterproof up to 10 feet (3 meters).

  • Crucial: Always ensure the waterproof seal is completely and tightly closed before submerging the camera. Even a small gap can lead to water damage.
  • The camera is designed to be floatable, making it easier to retrieve if dropped in water.

Playback and File Transfer

  • Playback: In photo or video mode, press the Menu Key and select the playback option to view your captured media. Use the Zoom In/Out keys to navigate through files.
  • File Transfer: Connect the camera to a computer using the USB cable. The camera will appear as a removable disk, allowing you to copy photos and videos (AVI format) to your computer.
