3. Controls and Ports

Familiarize yourself with the speaker's controls and connection ports:

  • Power Button: Press and hold to turn the speaker ON/OFF. Short press to play/pause in Bluetooth mode.
  • Mode Button (M): Short press to switch between Bluetooth, FM Radio, AUX, USB, and TF card modes.
  • RGB Light Button: Short press to cycle through different RGB light modes or turn them off.
  • Volume Down / Previous Track (-): Short press for previous track (Bluetooth/USB/TF). Long press to decrease volume.
  • Volume Up / Next Track (+): Short press for next track (Bluetooth/USB/TF). Long press to increase volume.

4. Setup

4.1. Initial Charging

  1. Before first use, fully charge the speaker.
  2. Connect the provided USB Type-C charging cable to the speaker's charging port.
  3. Connect the other end of the cable to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
  4. The charging indicator light will illuminate. Once fully charged, the light may change color or turn off.

4.2. Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power button until you hear an audible prompt and the LED lights activate.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button again until you hear an audible prompt and the LED lights turn off.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Bluetooth Mode

  1. Ensure the speaker is powered on and in Bluetooth mode (indicated by an audible prompt or flashing blue LED). If not, press the 'M' (Mode) button to switch to Bluetooth mode.
  2. On your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, laptop), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "BT231" from the list of found devices.
  4. Once paired, you will hear a confirmation sound, and the blue LED will stop flashing.
  5. You can now play audio from your device through the speaker.
  6. Use the speaker's volume buttons or your device's volume controls to adjust the sound level.
  7. Short press the Power button to play/pause music.
  8. Short press '-' or '+' buttons to skip tracks.

5.2. TWS (True Wireless Stereo) Pairing

To achieve true wireless stereo sound, you need two Select Sound Magma BT231 speakers.

  1. Ensure both BT231 speakers are powered on and in Bluetooth mode, but not connected to any device.
  2. On one of the speakers, double-press the Power button. You will hear a pairing tone.
  3. The two speakers will automatically search and pair with each other. Once paired, you will hear a confirmation sound.
  4. Now, connect your mobile device to one of the paired speakers (it will appear as "BT231" in your device's Bluetooth list).
  5. Audio will now play in stereo across both speakers.

5.3. FM Radio Mode

  1. Power on the speaker.
  2. Press the 'M' (Mode) button repeatedly until you enter FM Radio mode.
  3. To auto-scan for stations, press and hold the Power button. The speaker will scan and save available stations.
  4. Use the '-' and '+' buttons to navigate between saved stations.

5.4. AUX Input Mode

  1. Power on the speaker.
  2. Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the speaker's AUX input port.
  3. Connect the other end of the cable to the audio output jack of your external device (e.g., MP3 player, computer).
  4. Press the 'M' (Mode) button until you enter AUX mode.
  5. Control playback and volume from your external device.

5.5. USB / TF Card Playback

  1. Power on the speaker.
  2. Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port or a Micro SD (TF) card into the TF card slot.
  3. The speaker should automatically switch to USB or TF card mode and begin playing audio files. If not, press the 'M' (Mode) button to select the correct mode.
  4. Use the '-' and '+' buttons to skip tracks. Short press the Power button to play/pause.

5.6. RGB LED Lights

  • Short press the RGB Light button to cycle through different lighting effects or turn the lights off.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the speaker's exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the speaker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the speaker regularly, even if not in use.
  • Water Resistance: This speaker is not waterproof. Avoid exposure to water or excessive moisture.

7. Troubleshooting
