Installation Guide
Follow these steps to correctly install the replacement filter into your GoveeLife Air Purifier.
Figure 2: Visual guide for filter installation. This image illustrates the four key steps for replacing the air purifier filter, from opening the cover to starting the device.
- Use the open slot to remove the purifier's filter cover. Gently locate the designated opening on your air purifier and detach the cover to access the filter compartment.
- Take the True HEPA filter out of the plastic packaging. Before installation, remove the new filter from any protective plastic bags. This is crucial for proper air flow.
- Place the filter back into the purifier with the filter tabs facing out. Replace the back-cover by lining up the cover's feet with matching slots on the housing and push the cover closed. Ensure the filter is oriented correctly, typically with pull tabs or a specific side facing outwards for easy removal. Securely close the air purifier's cover.
- Start using GoveeLife air purifier. Once the filter is installed and the cover is closed, you can power on your air purifier and resume its operation.
Maintenance and Care
Regular maintenance of your filter, particularly the pre-filter, extends its lifespan and ensures optimal performance of your air purifier.
Figure 3: Maintenance steps for the washable pre-filter. This image demonstrates how to clean the pre-filter, showing both vacuuming and washing with water.
- Pre-Filter Cleaning: The pre-filter component of your replacement filter is washable. It is recommended to clean the pre-filter regularly to remove larger particles like dust and pet hair.
- Vacuuming: Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to gently clean the surface of the pre-filter.
- Washing: The pre-filter can be washed with water. Ensure it is completely dry before placing it back into the air purifier. Do not wash the HEPA or activated carbon layers.
- Filter Replacement: The main HEPA and activated carbon filter components are not washable and should be replaced according to your air purifier's indicator or every 6-8 months, depending on usage and air quality.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues after replacing your filter, consider the following common solutions:
- Air Purifier Not Turning On: Ensure the filter cover is securely closed and properly aligned. Some air purifiers have a safety switch that prevents operation if the cover is not correctly installed.
- Reduced Airflow or Odor: Verify that the new filter has been removed from all plastic packaging. A new filter should not have an odor. If an odor persists, ensure the filter is correctly seated. If airflow is low, check for any obstructions around the filter or air intake/outlet.
- Filter Indicator Light Still On: After replacing the filter, you may need to reset the filter life indicator on your air purifier. Refer to your specific air purifier's manual for instructions on how to reset the filter life.
- Unusual Noise: Ensure the filter is seated firmly and correctly within its compartment. A loose filter can cause vibrations or rattling noises.
