1. Overview

2. Safety Information

• WARNING: Children have died or been seriously injured when gates are not securely installed.

5. Setup

Follow these steps for proper installation of your retractable gate:

1. Choose Location: Select a structurally sound opening (wall, door frame, stair posts) that is strong, rigid, and has an even surface.
2. Mark Mounting Points: Use the provided template and a marker pen to accurately mark the drill points for the mounting brackets on both sides of the opening. Ensure the gate is positioned correctly, especially if installing near stairs (either top or lowest step).
3. Drill Pilot Holes: Using an electric screwdriver with a 6mm (15/64") drill bit, drill pilot holes at the marked locations. For hard walls (brick/concrete), drill about 30mm deep and insert the provided anchors before securing with screws. For wood mounting, use wood screws directly into the wood.
4. Attach Mounting Brackets: Securely fasten the mounting brackets to the wall using the appropriate screws.
5. Install Gate Unit: Snap the main retractable gate unit onto the installed mounting brackets. Ensure it is firmly attached and locked into place.
6. Test Operation: Gently pull the gate across the opening and hook it into the receiving brackets on the opposite side. Ensure smooth retraction and secure locking.

6. Operating the Gate

The HEELALBABY Retractable Pet Gate is designed for simple, one-handed operation by adults.

• To Open: Press and hold the release button on the top of the main unit. Gently pull the gate handle across the opening until it reaches the receiving brackets.
• To Lock: Once extended, align the gate handle with the receiving brackets and secure it. The locking mechanism will engage automatically or with a simple push/click.
• To Retract: Press and hold the release button and guide the gate handle back towards the main unit. The mesh will smoothly retract into its housing.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: The PVC mesh is durable and easy to clean. Wipe down with a damp cloth and mild soap as needed. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
