3. Installation Guide
The Chipolino Icon i-Size car seat is installed using the vehicle's 3-point seat belt. Follow these steps carefully to ensure maximum safety.
3.1. Installation for Children 76-105 cm (Approx. 15 months to 4 years)
For children in this height range, it is recommended to use the car seat in a rear-facing position if your vehicle allows, or forward-facing using the integrated 5-point harness.
- Place the car seat on the vehicle seat.
- Route the vehicle's 3-point seat belt through the designated belt guides on the car seat. Ensure the belt is taut and free of twists.
- Secure your child in the car seat using the integrated 5-point harness. Adjust the harness straps so they are snug against your child's body, with no slack. The shoulder straps should be at or slightly below your child's shoulders when rear-facing, and at or slightly above when forward-facing.
- Ensure the car seat is firmly secured and does not move more than 2.5 cm (1 inch) from side to side or front to back at the belt path.

3.2. Installation for Children 100-150 cm (Approx. 4 to 12 years)
For children in this height range, the car seat is used in a forward-facing position, and your child is secured directly by the vehicle's 3-point seat belt.
- Remove the integrated 5-point harness (refer to the "Operating" section for instructions on harness removal, if applicable).
- Place the car seat on the vehicle seat in a forward-facing position.
- Seat your child in the car seat.
- Route the vehicle's 3-point seat belt through the designated red belt guides on the car seat and across your child. Ensure the lap belt lies low across the hips/upper thighs and the shoulder belt rests across the center of the shoulder and chest, not on the neck or face.
- Ensure the car seat and child are firmly secured by the vehicle's seat belt.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Adjusting the Headrest
The headrest can be adjusted to multiple height positions to ensure optimal protection and comfort for your child's head and neck.
- Locate the headrest adjustment lever, typically at the top or back of the headrest.
- Squeeze or pull the lever and simultaneously slide the headrest up or down to the desired position.
- Release the lever to lock the headrest in place. Ensure it is securely locked before placing your child in the seat.
- When using the 5-point harness, the shoulder straps should be at or slightly above your child's shoulders. When using the vehicle's 3-point belt, the headrest should be adjusted so the shoulder belt guide is just above your child's shoulder.

4.2. Adjusting the 5-Point Harness (for 76-105 cm)
The 5-point harness must be adjusted correctly for your child's safety.
- Loosening: Press the harness release button (usually located at the front of the seat, under a flap) and pull the shoulder straps outwards.
- Tightening: Buckle the harness. Pull the harness adjustment strap (usually located between your child's legs) until the harness is snug against your child's body. You should not be able to pinch any slack in the harness straps at the shoulder.
- Ensure the chest clip is positioned at armpit level.
5. Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning the Cover: The fabric cover is removable and can be machine washed at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Do not tumble dry, iron, or dry clean. Allow to air dry completely before reattaching.
- Cleaning Plastic Parts: Wipe plastic parts with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Harness Care: Inspect the harness straps regularly for wear and tear. Clean with a damp cloth; do not machine wash or immerse in water, as this can weaken the webbing.
- Storage: Store the car seat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Chipolino Icon i-Size car seat, please refer to the following common solutions:
- Car seat feels loose after installation: Re-check all belt paths and ensure the vehicle's 3-point seat belt is pulled taut. Apply pressure to the car seat while tightening the belt.
- Harness straps are difficult to adjust: Ensure the harness release button is fully pressed when loosening. Check for any twists in the harness webbing.
- Headrest is stuck: Ensure the adjustment lever is fully engaged. Check for any obstructions.
- Child is uncomfortable: Verify that the headrest and harness are adjusted to the correct height for your child. Ensure no clothing is bunched up under the harness.
