5. Assembly and Setup
5.1 Attaching the Bar and Chain
- Ensure the battery is removed from the pole saw.
- Carefully unpackage the 8" Oregon bar and chain.
- Refer to the tool-free tensioning mechanism. Loosen the knob to allow for chain installation.
- Place the chain around the sprocket and guide bar, ensuring the cutting edges face the correct direction.
- Secure the bar and chain assembly to the pole saw head.
- Adjust the chain tension using the tool-free tensioning knob. The chain should be snug but still able to be pulled freely around the bar by hand.
5.2 Filling the Chain Oil Reservoir
- Ensure the battery is removed.
- Locate the oil reservoir cap on the pole saw head.
- Unscrew the cap and fill the reservoir with appropriate bar and chain oil (not included). Do not overfill.
- Securely replace the cap.
- Periodically check the oil level during operation and refill as needed.
5.3 Attaching the Shoulder Strap
- Attach the shoulder strap to the designated attachment points on the pole saw.
- Adjust the strap length for comfortable and balanced operation, distributing the tool's weight.
5.4 Charging the Battery
- Connect the charger to a standard power outlet.
- Insert the 40V Lithium-Ion battery into the charger.
- Monitor the charger's indicator lights for charging status. A full charge is indicated when all lights are solid green.
- Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger.
6. Operation
6.1 Pre-Operation Checklist
- Ensure all safety gear is worn.
- Check chain tension and sharpness.
- Verify oil reservoir is adequately filled.
- Confirm battery is fully charged and securely inserted.
- Clear the work area of obstructions and bystanders.
- Plan your cuts and identify potential falling branch paths.
6.2 Starting and Stopping the Pole Saw
- Insert the charged battery into the battery compartment until it clicks into place.
- To start, press and hold the safety switch, then squeeze the trigger. The chain will begin to move.
- To stop, release the trigger. The chain will cease movement.
6.3 Adjusting the Telescopic Pole
- Ensure the pole saw is off and the battery is removed for safety during adjustment.
- Locate the locking collar or mechanism on the telescopic pole.
- Loosen the locking mechanism.
- Extend or retract the pole to the desired length (between 8.2 ft and 9.8 ft).
- Securely tighten the locking mechanism to prevent the pole from slipping during use.
6.4 Cutting Techniques
- Undercut First: For larger branches, make a small undercut on the underside of the branch first to prevent bark stripping when the main cut is made.
- Main Cut: Position the saw on top of the branch, slightly further out from the undercut. Allow the saw to do the work; do not force it.
- Balance: Maintain a balanced stance and use the shoulder strap to support the tool's weight.
- Avoid Kickback: Be aware of the kickback zone at the tip of the guide bar.
- Clear Debris: Regularly clear cut branches and debris from the work area.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your pole saw. Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance.
7.1 Chain Lubrication
- The pole saw features an automatic oiling system. Regularly check the oil level indicator and refill the reservoir with quality bar and chain oil as needed.
- Ensure the oil port is clear of debris to allow proper lubrication.
7.2 Chain Sharpening and Replacement
- A dull chain will reduce cutting efficiency and increase strain on the motor. Sharpen the chain regularly or replace it when necessary.
- Refer to the chain manufacturer's instructions for proper sharpening techniques or consult a qualified service technician.
7.3 Cleaning and Storage
- After each use, clean the pole saw thoroughly. Remove sawdust, debris, and sap from the bar, chain, and motor housing.
- Use a damp cloth for cleaning; do not use harsh chemicals or immerse the tool in water.
- Store the pole saw in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children. Remove the battery before storage.
8. Troubleshooting
