  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the power outlet matches the voltage requirements of the light. Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug. Keep the power adapter and connections dry.
  • Water Exposure: This light is designed to be placed over an aquarium and is rated IP67 waterproof, meaning it can withstand water splashes and vapor. However, it is not submersible. Do not immerse the light in water.
  • Installation: Install the light securely on the aquarium using the provided brackets. Ensure it is stable and cannot fall into the water.
  • Maintenance: Always unplug the light from the power source before performing any maintenance, cleaning, or when placing hands in the aquarium water.
  • Children and Pets: Keep the light and its power cord out of reach of children and pets to prevent accidents.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the light to prevent overheating.

4. Setup

Follow these steps to install your Pawfly Aquarium LED Light:

  1. Unpack the Light: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Attach Brackets (if separate): If the metal brackets are not pre-attached, slide them into the slots on each end of the light fixture until they are secure.
  3. Adjust Brackets: Extend the brackets to match the length of your aquarium. The light is designed for tanks between 12 and 18 inches (30 to 45 cm). Ensure the light fixture is centered over the tank.

  5. Position the Light: Place the light fixture with its extended brackets securely on the edges of your aquarium. Ensure it is stable and level.

  7. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the light's power input, then plug the adapter into a suitable electrical outlet. Ensure your hands are dry during this step.

5. Operating Instructions

The Pawfly Aquarium LED Light features an inline controller with several buttons for operation.

Controller Buttons:

  • M Button (Power/Mode): Short press to switch between Daytime and Night modes. Hold for 3 seconds to turn the light completely off.
  • D Button (Daytime Brightness): In Daytime Mode, press to adjust the brightness of the white and red lights.
  • N Button (Night/Blue Brightness): In Daytime Mode, press to adjust the brightness of the blue light. In Night Mode, press to adjust the overall luminance of the blue light.
  • Timer Button: Press to cycle through timer options (8h, 10h, 12h).

5.1. Power On/Off

  • To turn the light ON: Plug in the power adapter. The light will typically turn on to its last-used setting.
  • To turn the light OFF: Hold the M button for 3 seconds.
  • To turn the light ON again from the off state: Short press the M button.

5.2. Switching Lighting Modes

The light offers two primary modes: Daytime Mode (full spectrum) and Night Mode (blue light only).

  • Short press the M button repeatedly to toggle between Daytime Mode and Night Mode.

5.3. Adjusting Brightness (6 Intensity Levels)

Brightness can be adjusted independently for different light components.

  • In Daytime Mode:
    • Press the D button to adjust the brightness of the white and red lights.
    • Press the N button to adjust the brightness of the blue light.
  • In Night Mode:
    • Press the N button to adjust the luminance of the blue light only.

5.4. Timer Function (Auto On/Off)

The built-in timer allows for automated lighting cycles.

  • Press the Timer button to cycle through the available durations: 8 hours (8H), 10 hours (10H), and 12 hours (12H).
  • Once a duration is selected, the light will operate for that period and then turn off. It will automatically turn on again at the same time the next day, repeating the cycle.
  • The timer function operates within the first 8, 10, or 12 hours of a 24-hour period from when the timer was set.

5.5. Memory Function

The light features a memory function. If the power is interrupted and then restored, the light will resume its last-used mode and brightness settings, including the timer cycle if it was active.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the light fixture and LEDs with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, water spots, or algae buildup. Ensure the light is unplugged and dry before reconnecting power. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord and plug for any signs of damage. If damage is found, discontinue use and contact support.
  • Heat Dissipation: Ensure the aluminum shell is free from obstructions to allow for proper heat dissipation.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Pawfly Aquarium LED Light, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
