3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the alarm unit. Connect the provided DC charging cable to the charging port on the alarm and to a suitable 5V power adapter (not included). The indicator light will show charging status. Alternatively, place the unit in direct sunlight for several hours to allow the solar panel to charge the internal battery.

3.2 Power On/Off

The alarm can be powered on or off using the remote control. Press the 'OFF' button on the remote to turn the unit off. To activate, select one of the operating modes (A, B, or C) using the remote control.

4. Operating Modes

The Lancoon Solar Motion Sensor Alarm offers three distinct operating modes, selectable via the remote control:

  • Mode A: 24-Hour Motion Detection Alarm
    In this mode, the alarm will activate with sound and strobe light whenever motion is detected, regardless of the time of day.
  • Mode B: Night Motion Detection Alarm
    This mode activates the alarm with sound and strobe light only when motion is detected during nighttime or in low-light conditions.
  • Mode C: Night 5-Minute Timed Sound and Light Cycle
    In this mode, during nighttime, the alarm will emit sound and flash its light in a timed cycle (e.g., every 5 minutes) when motion is detected.

5. Remote Control Operation

The included remote control allows for easy management of the alarm's functions:

  • A Button: Activates 24-hour alarm mode.
  • B Button: Activates night alarm mode.
  • C Button: Activates night 5-minute timed sound and light cycle mode.
  • OFF Button: Turns the alarm unit off.
  • Play Button (►): Switches between pre-set alarm sounds (e.g., gunshot, dog barking).
  • Microphone Button: Initiates custom sound recording. Press and hold to record, release to save.

5.1 Custom Sound Recording

To record a custom sound:

  1. Ensure the alarm is in an active mode (A, B, or C).
  2. Press and hold the Microphone button on the remote control.
  3. Speak clearly into the alarm unit's microphone (located near the motion sensor).
  4. Release the Microphone button to save the recording. The recording duration is up to 20 seconds.
  5. When motion is detected, your custom recording will play.

6. Installation

The Lancoon Solar Motion Sensor Alarm is designed for wall mounting. Choose a location that receives ample direct sunlight for optimal solar charging and provides the desired coverage area for motion detection.

6.1 Mounting Steps

  1. Select Location: Identify a sunny spot, preferably facing south, where the alarm can detect motion effectively within its 8-meter range. Ensure the area is clear of obstructions that might block the solar panel or motion sensor.
  2. Mark Drilling Points: Hold the alarm unit against the desired mounting surface and mark the positions for the mounting screws.
  3. Drill Holes: Use an appropriate drill bit to create pilot holes at the marked positions.
  4. Insert Wall Plugs (if necessary): For masonry or concrete, insert the provided wall plugs into the drilled holes.
  5. Mount the Alarm: Align the alarm unit with the holes and secure it using the provided mounting screws. Ensure it is firmly attached.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe the solar panel and motion sensor lens with a soft, damp cloth to ensure optimal performance. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Battery Life: The built-in Lithium-ion battery is designed for long life. If the unit is stored for extended periods, ensure it is fully charged every 3 months to maintain battery health.
