1. Important Safety Instructions
Please read these instructions carefully before assembling and using your tillvex parasol. Retain this manual for future reference.
- Secure Installation: Always ensure the parasol base is adequately weighted. Standard base weights (approximately 50x50 cm plates) are required for stability and are not included.
- Wind Conditions: Do not use the parasol in strong winds or stormy weather. High winds can cause damage to the parasol and pose a safety risk. Close and secure the parasol immediately if strong winds are anticipated.
- Clearance: Ensure there is sufficient clearance around the parasol when opening, closing, rotating, or tilting to avoid contact with objects or people.
- Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the parasol during operation to prevent accidents.
- Maintenance: Regularly inspect all components for wear, damage, or loose connections. Do not use the parasol if any part is damaged.
- Cleaning: Use only mild soap and water for cleaning. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the fabric or frame.
- Sharp Objects: Avoid contact with sharp objects that could puncture or tear the canopy fabric.
2. Product Components
Before assembly, verify that all components are present and undamaged.
- Parasol Canopy (100% Polyester, 180 g/m²)
- Aluminum Support Pole
- Cross Base
- Crank Handle
- Foot Lever for Rotation
- Tilt Adjustment Lever
- Protective Cover with Metal Rod
- Wind Straps (if included)
- Assembly Hardware (bolts, nuts, washers)

3. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble your tillvex parasol:
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging and lay them out on a clean, flat surface. Check against the components list.
- Assemble Cross Base: Connect the cross base sections using the provided hardware. Ensure all bolts are tightened securely.
- Attach Support Pole: Insert the main aluminum support pole into the assembled cross base. Secure it with the designated bolts and nuts.
- Weight the Base: Place appropriate base weights (e.g., 50x50 cm paving slabs, not included) onto the cross base. This is crucial for stability, especially in light winds.
- Mount Parasol Canopy: Carefully lift the parasol canopy assembly and attach it to the top of the support pole. Ensure it is correctly aligned and secured according to the locking mechanism.
- Initial Opening: Use the crank handle to slowly open the parasol canopy. Ensure no parts are obstructed during this process.

4. Operating Instructions
Your tillvex parasol offers versatile adjustment options for optimal shade.
- Opening and Closing: Use the integrated crank handle to smoothly open or close the parasol canopy. Turn the crank clockwise to open and counter-clockwise to close.
- 360° Rotation: To rotate the entire parasol, press down on the foot lever located at the base of the pole. While holding the lever down, gently turn the parasol to the desired position. Release the foot lever to lock it in place.
- 6-Position Tilt Adjustment: The parasol features a 6-position tilt adjustment. Use the tilt adjustment lever on the main pole to change the angle of the canopy. Secure the lever firmly in the desired position to prevent unwanted movement.

Figure 4.1: The 360-degree rotation mechanism. To rotate the parasol, press the foot lever and turn the entire unit to the desired direction. This allows for continuous shade adjustment without moving the base.

5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance will extend the life of your tillvex parasol.
- Cleaning the Canopy: Clean the parasol canopy with mild soap and water. Use a soft brush or cloth to gently scrub away dirt. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow it to air dry completely before closing or storing.
- Frame Care: Wipe the aluminum frame with a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: When not in use, especially during off-season or inclement weather, close the parasol and secure it with the provided wind straps. Use the included protective cover to shield the parasol from dust, dirt, and UV exposure.
- Inspection: Periodically check all bolts, screws, and moving parts to ensure they are tight and functioning correctly. Lubricate moving parts if necessary.

Figure 5.1: Steps for installing the protective cover. First, insert the metal rod into the designated opening, then carefully pull the cover upwards over the parasol. This protects the canopy from elements when not in use.

Figure 5.2: The parasol fabric is waterproof and offers UPF 50+ UV protection, ensuring durability and protection from the elements. Regular cleaning helps maintain these properties.
6. Troubleshooting
Refer to this section for common issues and their solutions.
- Parasol is unstable:
Solution: Ensure the cross base is properly weighted with sufficient paving slabs (recommended 50x50 cm plates). Always close the parasol in strong winds. - Crank mechanism is stiff or not working:
Solution: Check for any obstructions preventing the canopy from opening or closing. Ensure the fabric is not caught. Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the moving parts of the crank if necessary. - Parasol does not rotate smoothly:
Solution: Ensure the foot lever is fully depressed when attempting to rotate. Check for any debris around the base mechanism. - Canopy fabric is dirty or stained:
Solution: Refer to the 'Cleaning the Canopy' section under Maintenance for proper cleaning procedures.
