3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the portable DVD player. The device features an upgraded 5000mAh rechargeable battery, providing approximately 6-7 hours of continuous playback on a full charge.

• Using the AC Adapter: Connect the AC adapter to the DC IN port on the player and plug it into a standard wall outlet.
• Using the Car Charger: For charging on the go, connect the car charger to the DC IN port and plug it into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.

3.2 Initial Power On

Locate the power switch on the side of the device and slide it to the 'ON' position. The screen will illuminate, indicating the device is ready for use.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Inserting a Disc

1. Gently open the disc cover located on the top surface of the player.
2. Place your DVD or CD onto the spindle, ensuring it is seated correctly.
3. Close the disc cover firmly. The player will begin reading the disc automatically.

4.2 Playing Media (DVD, USB, SD Card)

The HotHat Portable DVD Player supports various formats including DVD, CD-R(RW), DVD-R(+R), DVD-RW(+RW), CVD(SVCD), VCD(DVCD), CD, and media from USB drives/SD cards (up to 32GB). Blu-ray discs are not supported.

• DVD/CD Playback: After inserting a disc, the player will typically start playback automatically. Use the control buttons on the device or the remote control for play, pause, stop, fast forward, and rewind functions.
• USB/SD Card Playback: Insert a USB drive into the USB port or an SD card into the SD card slot. Use the 'MODE' button on the device or remote to select the appropriate input source (USB or CARD). Navigate through your files using the directional buttons and press 'OK' or 'PLAY' to start playback.

4.3 Screen Rotation and Swivel

The 15.6" HD LCD screen features 180° rotation and 270° flip functionality, allowing for optimal viewing angles in various situations.

• Gently rotate the screen horizontally up to 180° and then flip it vertically up to 270° to adjust the viewing position.
• The screen can also be folded flat against the base, transforming the device into a tablet-like form factor.

4.4 Connecting to TV (AV In/Out)

Use the provided AV cable to connect your portable DVD player to a larger screen, such as a television or projector, for an enhanced viewing experience.

• AV Out: Connect one end of the AV cable to the AV OUT port on the DVD player and the other end to the AV IN ports on your TV (matching colors: yellow for video, white/red for audio). Select the correct AV input on your TV.
• AV In: The player also supports AV IN, allowing it to function as a display for external devices. Connect the external device's AV OUT to the player's AV IN.

4.5 Using the Remote Control

The included remote control provides full functionality for operating the DVD player from a distance. Ensure the remote has working batteries (not included) and point it towards the player's IR receiver.

4.6 Volume Control

The device features built-in powerful high-volume speakers with adjustable volume levels from 0-20. Use the 'VOL+' and 'VOL-' buttons on the device or remote to adjust the sound output.

4.7 Break Point Memory

The last memory function allows the player to resume playback from where you left off, even after the device has been powered off. This feature is automatically enabled.

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and the device's exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Disc Care: Handle discs by their edges to prevent fingerprints and scratches. Store discs in their cases when not in use.

• No Sound/Picture on TV: Check all AV cable connections. Ensure the TV input source is correctly selected.
• Remote Control Not Working: Check remote batteries. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the player's IR receiver.
