The rear panel includes the DC power input, an auxiliary input (AUX IN) for external audio devices, and a USB port for charging other devices.
4. Setup
4.1 Power Connection
- Connect the provided power adapter to the DC IN jack on the rear of the unit.
- Plug the power adapter into a standard wall outlet (100-240V ~ 50/60Hz).
- For backup power during outages, insert two 1.5V AAA/R03/UM4 batteries (not supplied) into the battery compartment. This will preserve time and alarm settings.
4.2 Setting the Time
- In standby mode, press and hold the TIME SET button. The hour digits will flash.
- Press the HR button to adjust the hour.
- Press the MIN button to adjust the minute.
- Press TIME SET again to confirm and exit. The clock operates in 24-hour format.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Radio Operation (PLL FM)
Press the SOURCE button repeatedly to select FM radio mode.
5.1.1 Automatic Station Search and Storage
- In FM mode, press and hold the PLAY/PAUSE button. The radio will automatically scan and store up to 20 available FM stations.
5.1.2 Manual Station Search
- In FM mode, briefly press the PREV or NEXT buttons to tune to the previous or next available station.
- To fine-tune, press and hold PREV or NEXT until the desired frequency is reached.
5.1.3 Recalling Preset Stations
- In FM mode, briefly press the AL1 or AL2 buttons to cycle through the stored preset stations.
5.2 Bluetooth Audio Streaming
The unit can stream music from any Bluetooth-compatible device (e.g., smartphone, tablet, laptop).
5.2.1 Pairing via Bluetooth
- Press the SOURCE button to select Bluetooth mode. The Bluetooth indicator will flash.
- Enable Bluetooth on your external device and search for "M-172-BT".
- Select "M-172-BT" to pair. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator will stop flashing and remain lit.
- You can now play music from your device through the alarm clock radio.
5.2.2 NFC Pairing (Automatic Pairing Function)
- Ensure NFC is enabled on your compatible smartphone or tablet.
- Touch your NFC-enabled device to the NFC logo on the top of the M-172-BT.
- Your device should automatically pair with the M-172-BT.
5.3 Alarm Functions (Double Alarm)
The unit features two independent alarms.
5.3.1 Setting Alarm 1 or Alarm 2
- In standby mode, press and hold the AL1 (for Alarm 1) or AL2 (for Alarm 2) button. The hour digits will flash.
- Press the HR button to adjust the alarm hour.
- Press the MIN button to adjust the alarm minute.
- Press AL1 or AL2 again to select the alarm source: Radio, Buzzer, or Bluetooth. The corresponding icon will appear on the display.
- Press AL1 or AL2 one more time to confirm and activate the alarm. The alarm indicator will light up.
5.3.2 Snooze Function
- When the alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button to temporarily silence it. The alarm will sound again after approximately 9 minutes.
5.3.3 Sleep Function
- While playing audio (radio or Bluetooth), press the SLEEP button (often integrated with SNOOZE or a dedicated button, refer to specific button labels if different) repeatedly to set a sleep timer (e.g., 90, 60, 30, 15 minutes, or OFF). The unit will automatically turn off after the selected duration.
5.4 Display Brightness Adjustment
The 1.2-inch white LED display offers adjustable intensity.
- In standby mode, press the DIMMER button (often integrated with SNOOZE or a dedicated button) repeatedly to cycle through brightness levels: High, Low, or Screen Off.
5.5 USB Charging Port

The USB port on the rear of the unit is designed for charging external devices such as smartphones or tablets. Connect your device's USB charging cable to this port.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: If backup batteries are installed, replace them annually or when the unit loses time during power outages. Ensure correct polarity.
- Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, remove the backup batteries to prevent leakage.
