4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your dash cam.

4.1 Mounting the Dash Cam

  1. Clean the windshield area where you intend to mount the dash cam. Ensure it is free of dust and grease.
  2. Attach the dash cam to the windshield using the provided adhesive mount or suction cup mount. Position it centrally, ideally behind the rearview mirror, to avoid obstructing your view.
  3. Adjust the camera lens to ensure it captures the road ahead clearly.

4.2 Power Connection

  1. Connect the car charger to the dash cam's power input port.
  2. Plug the other end of the car charger into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.
  3. Route the power cable neatly along the edge of the windshield and dashboard using the provided crowbar and cable clips to ensure it does not interfere with driving.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Initial Power On

Once connected to power, the dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle starts. The 64GB SD card is pre-inserted and ready for use.

5.2 Basic Controls

  • Power Button: Press and hold to manually turn the dash cam on or off. A short press may toggle the screen display.
  • Menu Button: Access settings and options.
  • OK Button: Confirm selections or start/stop recording manually.
  • Up/Down Buttons: Navigate through menu options.

5.3 Recording Modes

  • Loop Recording: The dash cam records video in continuous loops (e.g., 1, 3, or 5-minute segments). When the SD card is full, the oldest unlocked video files are automatically overwritten by new recordings. This ensures continuous operation without manual intervention.
  • G-Sensor (Emergency Lock): In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the built-in G-sensor will automatically detect the event and lock the current video file. This prevents the locked file from being overwritten by loop recording, preserving it as crucial evidence.
  • Parking Monitor (Time-Lapse Mode): This feature provides surveillance when your vehicle is parked.
    • G-Sensor Detection: The dash cam will automatically record if it detects a bump or impact while parked.
    • Time-Lapse Recording: Records footage at a lower frame rate (e.g., 1fps/3fps) to conserve memory, providing continuous surveillance over extended periods.

Note: The Parking Monitor feature requires a hardwire kit (not included) for continuous power supply when the vehicle is off.
