Pre-Installation Check

  • Ensure you have a standard Phillips head screwdriver.
  • Verify the dimensions of your cabinet door: Designed for doors 16mm to 19mm thick (approximately 5/8" to 3/4").
  • Confirm the existing 35mm cup in the back of the cabinet door has a depth of 1/2".

Installation Steps

  1. Remove Old Hinge: Carefully remove the old hinge from the cabinet door and frame using a Phillips head screwdriver.
  2. Important Note: Before installing the new hinge, ensure you remove the black foam piece located inside the hinge cup. This foam is for transportation protection only and serves no functional purpose during operation.

Operation

Once installed, your Holdly replacement hinges will provide smooth, self-closing action for your cabinet doors. The 110-degree opening allows for ample access to cabinet contents. Ensure that the door closes completely and quietly. If the door does not close properly, refer to the adjustment instructions in the Setup section or the Troubleshooting section.

Maintenance

Holdly hinges are designed for long-term durability with minimal maintenance. To ensure continued smooth operation:

  • Cleaning: Wipe hinges periodically with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and grime. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the nickel plating.
  • Lubrication: Under normal household use, lubrication is generally not required. If hinges begin to squeak or feel stiff after extended use, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the pivot points.
  • Screw Tightness: Periodically check the tightness of all mounting screws. Loose screws can lead to sagging doors or improper closing. Tighten gently with a Phillips head screwdriver if needed.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your cabinet doors after hinge replacement, consider the following common problems and solutions:

  • Door Does Not Close Fully or Sags:
    • Check if the black foam piece was removed from the hinge cup during installation.
    • Ensure all screws are securely tightened.
    • Adjust the hinge using the side-to-side and height adjustment screws until the door aligns and closes properly.
  • Door Makes Noise (Creaking/Squeaking):
    • Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the hinge's pivot points.
    • Check for any debris or obstructions around the hinge mechanism.
  • Door Cannot Be Fully Opened (Less than 110 Degrees):
    • Ensure the hinge is correctly installed and not obstructed by the cabinet frame or other components.
    • Verify that the correct 110-degree hinge type was installed.
