4. Operating Instructions

This section details the steps for operating your industrial steam iron.

  1. Power On: Turn on the main power switch on the boiler unit. The indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Heat Up: Allow the boiler to heat up and build steam pressure. The pressure gauge will indicate when optimal pressure is reached. This typically takes several minutes.
  3. Adjust Iron Temperature: Use the temperature adjustment knob on the steam iron to select the desired heat setting for your fabric. The iron can be adjusted within 150-230°C (4 levels). Refer to fabric care labels for appropriate temperatures.
  4. Steam Activation: Once the boiler has reached operating pressure and the iron is hot, press the steam button on the iron handle to release steam. For continuous steam, some models may have a locking mechanism for the steam button.
  5. Ironing: Iron garments as needed. The continuous, high-temperature steam effectively removes wrinkles.
  6. Power Off: After use, turn off the power switch on the boiler unit and unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet. Allow the unit to cool down completely before handling or storing.

Fabric Temperature Guide:

Always check the garment's care label first. The following is a general guide:

  • Low Temperature (150-170°C): Nylon, Silk, Synthetics
  • Medium Temperature (170-200°C): Wool, Polyester Blends
  • High Temperature (200-230°C): Cotton, Linen, Denim

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your steam iron.

  • Draining Water: After each use, once the unit has cooled completely and pressure has dissipated, carefully drain any remaining water from the boiler unit.
  • Cleaning Soleplate: Clean the iron's soleplate regularly with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a specialized iron soleplate cleaner, following its instructions. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads.
  • Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits can build up in the boiler. Periodically descale the unit using a vinegar and water solution (1:1 ratio) or a commercial descaling agent designed for steam irons. Follow the descaling agent's instructions carefully. Ensure the unit is thoroughly rinsed afterward.
  • Storage: Store the appliance in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Ensure the steam hose is not kinked during storage.
