3. Device Components

4.2 Setup via WPS Button (Recommended for quick setup)
- Press the WPS button on your EYEKSTON U8 WiFi Extender.
- Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your main router.
- Wait for about 2 minutes. The signal light on the extender should turn solid green or orange, indicating a successful connection and network expansion.

4.3 Manual Setup via Web Browser
If WPS setup is not preferred or fails, use the web browser method:
- Connect your phone or computer to the extender's default Wi-Fi network (SSID usually printed on the extender, e.g., "wireless_xxxxxx"). No password is required initially.
- Open a web browser and enter
192.168.1.1in the address bar. Log in with the default username and password (usually "admin" for both). - Select "Repeater Mode" from the setup options.
- The extender will scan for available Wi-Fi networks. Select your main router's 2.4GHz or 5GHz SSID from the list.
- Enter the password for your main router's Wi-Fi network. You can choose to modify the extender's SSID or keep the default (which usually appends "-EXT" to your main network's name).
- Confirm the settings and click "Finish". The extender will restart.
- Once restarted, connect your devices to the new extended network.

5. Operating Modes
The EYEKSTON U8 WiFi Extender supports three operating modes:
- Repeater Mode: Extends the range of your existing wireless network. This is the most common use case.
- AP (Access Point) Mode: Converts a wired internet connection into a wireless hotspot. Ideal for areas with Ethernet access but no Wi-Fi.

6. Optimizing Placement

- Green Light: Strong signal.
