5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Making Espresso
- Fill Water Reservoir: Open the water reservoir cap and fill with cold, fresh water. Do not exceed the MAX level. Close the cap securely.
- Prepare Coffee Grounds: Use finely ground espresso coffee. For a single shot, use one scoop (approximately 7g); for a double shot, use two scoops (approximately 14g).
- Fill Portafilter: Place the filter basket into the portafilter. Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter basket.
- Tamp Coffee: Use the tamper end of the measuring scoop to gently but firmly press down the coffee grounds. Ensure the surface is level.
- Attach Portafilter: Align the portafilter with the brew head and twist it firmly to the right until it is securely locked in place.
- Place Carafe: Position the glass carafe on the drip tray directly under the portafilter spouts.
- Brew Espresso: Plug in the machine. Turn the control knob to the coffee brewing symbol. The machine will begin to heat water and then dispense espresso into the carafe.
- Stop Brewing: Once the desired amount of espresso is brewed (the machine has a 0.24L capacity, typically 2-4 shots), turn the control knob to "OFF".
- Release Pressure: Wait for the pressure to release before carefully removing the portafilter.

5.2 Frothing Milk for Cappuccinos and Lattes
- Prepare Milk: Fill a small pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to about one-third full.
- Heat Machine: After brewing espresso, or if starting fresh, turn the control knob to the steam symbol (usually a cloud icon). Wait for the machine to heat up and produce steam.
- Position Steam Wand: Submerge the tip of the steam wand just below the surface of the milk.
- Froth Milk: Turn the control knob to the steam symbol. Move the pitcher up and down gently to incorporate air and create foam. Once the milk has reached the desired temperature and consistency, turn the control knob to "OFF".
- Clean Steam Wand: Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying. Briefly release a burst of steam to clear any internal blockages.
