4. Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your Mangoal 4K Honda CRV Dash Cam. A video tutorial is also available for visual guidance.

Installation Steps:

  1. Remove the Module: Gently remove the existing module cover behind the rearview mirror.
  2. Pry Open Reading Light: Use the provided crowbar tool to carefully pry open the reading light assembly.
  3. Connect Y-Cable: Disconnect the interior mirror plug and connect it with the provided Y-cable.
  4. Route Wire Harness: Pass the dash cam wire harness from above the ceiling to conceal it.
  5. Recover Reading Light: Reinstall the reading light assembly.
  6. Install Camera Host: Connect the power cord to the dash cam host and install it into the module space. Ensure it clicks securely into place.

5. Setup and App Control

The dash cam features built-in WiFi and is controlled via a dedicated mobile application. This allows for real-time video viewing, footage download, and settings adjustment directly from your smartphone.

Connecting to the App:

  1. Download the free application (e.g., "SkyComm" or similar, as indicated in product images) from your smartphone's app store.
  2. Turn on your vehicle to power the dash cam.
  3. On your smartphone, connect to the dash cam's WiFi network (SSID and password typically found on the device or in the manual).
  4. Open the app and select "Access Camera" to view live footage and access settings.

Adjusting Settings:

Within the app, you can adjust various settings including video resolution, speaker volume, loop recording duration, exposure compensation, and G-Sensor sensitivity. You can also disable the startup tone if desired.

6. Operating Instructions

Automatic Recording:

The dash cam automatically begins recording when your vehicle's ignition is turned on. It will power off automatically when the vehicle is turned off.

Video Playback:

Recorded footage can be accessed and played back through the mobile application. Connect your smartphone to the dash cam's WiFi and navigate to the video files within the app.

Memory Card Management:

The included 64GB MicroSD card stores recorded videos. Ensure the card is properly inserted before use. For optimal performance, format the MicroSD card periodically using the app settings.

Loop Recording

The dash cam continuously records video in segments (1, 3, or 5 minutes). When the memory card is full, the oldest footage is automatically overwritten by new recordings, ensuring uninterrupted recording without manual intervention.

G-Sensor (Automatic Incident Detection)

The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. Upon detection, it automatically saves and locks the current video segment to a dedicated folder, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. This ensures critical incident footage is preserved.

Parking Monitor

When enabled, the parking monitor feature provides 24-hour protection for your vehicle. It automatically switches to parking mode and records events when motion or impact is detected while the vehicle is parked. Note: Parking monitor requires an external OBD Power Adapter (ASIN: B0CVTKTCVY) or Fuse Box Power Adapter (ASIN: B0CXXXV4YG), sold separately.

8. Troubleshooting
