1. Product Overview
The Clariviews Multi-Function Media Recorder (Model KR043B) is designed to convert and preserve your analog and digital media. This versatile device allows you to record from various sources including VCRs, DVD players, camcorders, and even smartphones, directly to DVDs, USB drives, or SD cards. It also supports playback of recorded content and features an integrated screen for previewing.

2. Setup
2.1 Power Connection
- Connect the AC Power Adapter to the 'DC IN 5V' port on the side of the Media Recorder.
- Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
- Press and hold the 'POWER' button on the front panel until the screen illuminates.

2.2 Connecting Input Sources
The Media Recorder supports various input sources for recording:
- Analog Video/Audio (RCA): Connect your VCR, camcorder, or DVD player using the included AV cables to the 'AUDIO IN (L/R)' and 'VIDEO IN' ports.
- USB Device: Insert a USB flash drive into the 'USB IN/OUT' port. Ensure the USB drive is formatted to FAT32 for proper recognition.
- SD Card: Insert an SD card into the 'Memory Card In/Out' slot.

2.3 Connecting to a TV/Display (Optional)
To view content on a larger screen, connect an HDMI cable from the 'HD OUT' port on the Media Recorder to an HDMI input on your television or monitor. The device supports up to 1080p resolution output.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Recording from External Sources
The Media Recorder can convert video from various analog sources to digital formats (DVD, USB, SD card).
- Connect your external video source (VCR, camcorder, DVD player) to the 'AUDIO IN' and 'VIDEO IN' ports using the AV cables.
- Insert a blank DVD-R into the DVD tray or connect a formatted USB drive/SD card.
- On the Media Recorder's screen, navigate to the 'Video' menu option.
- Select your desired recording destination (DVD, USB, or Card).
- Start playback on your external video source.
- Press the 'REC' button on the Media Recorder to begin recording. You can monitor the recording on the built-in screen or a connected TV.
- Press 'STOP' when finished.

3.2 Copying Files (USB/SD to DVD, Mobile to DVD/USB/SD)
The device allows for flexible file copying between different storage types and from mobile devices.
- USB/SD to DVD: Select the 'USB/Card to DVD' option from the menu. Choose the files you wish to copy from your USB drive or SD card and follow the on-screen prompts to burn them to a blank DVD.
- Mobile Phone to DVD/USB/SD: Download the free 'Friendly Memories' app (available on iOS and Android). Connect your smartphone to the Media Recorder via Wi-Fi. Use the app to select photos and videos from your phone and transfer them directly to a DVD, USB flash drive, or SD card inserted into the recorder.

3.3 Playback
You can play back recorded videos and photos directly on the device's 4.3-inch LCD screen or on a connected external display.
- From the main menu, select 'Media Player'.
- Choose the source for playback: USB, Card, or DVD.
- Navigate through the folders and select the desired file to play.

4. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Clariviews Media Recorder, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. For the LCD screen, use a screen-specific cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.

- Disc Care: Handle DVDs by their edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches. Store discs in their protective sleeves or cases.

5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Media Recorder, refer to the following common solutions:
- Device Not Powering On: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the device and a working power outlet. Try pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds.
- USB/SD Card Not Recognized: Verify that the USB drive or SD card is properly inserted. Ensure the storage device is formatted to FAT32. Some devices may require a Master Boot Record (MBR) partition style.
- No Video/Audio Input: Check all AV cable connections between the source device and the Media Recorder. Ensure the source device is powered on and playing content.
- Recording Issues: Confirm there is sufficient space on the target DVD, USB drive, or SD card. Ensure the blank DVD-R is compatible (DVD+RW/R -RW/R, DVD+R DL).
