Setup

1. Power Connection

  1. Ensure the machine is turned off.
  2. Insert the DC6V adapter plug into the machine's interface.
  3. Plug the adapter into a standard 110V electrical outlet.
  4. If using the foot switch, connect it to the designated port on the machine.

2. Threading the Machine

The machine comes pre-threaded for factory testing. For re-threading:

Upper Threading:

  1. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin.
  2. Guide the thread through the first thread guide.
  3. Pass the thread through the tension discs and then up through the thread take-up lever.
  4. Guide the thread down through the remaining thread guides to the needle.
  5. Thread the needle from front to back.

Bobbin Winding:

  1. Place an empty bobbin onto the bobbin winder spindle.
  2. Guide thread from the spool through the bobbin winding tension disc.
  3. Wrap the thread a few times around the bobbin.
  4. Push the bobbin winder spindle to the right.
  5. Press the foot pedal or speed control switch to wind the bobbin. Stop when full.
  6. Cut the thread and push the bobbin winder spindle back to the left.

Lower Bobbin Insertion (Horizontal Rotary Shuttle Structure):

  1. Open the clear bobbin panel.
  2. Insert the wound bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring the thread unwinds in the correct direction (usually counter-clockwise).
  3. Guide the bobbin thread through the tension spring slot.
  4. Close the bobbin panel.
  5. Turn the hand wheel to lower and raise the needle, catching the bobbin thread. Pull both threads under the presser foot.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On and Speed Control

  • Turn the machine on using the Power On/Off switch.
  • Select your desired sewing speed (Low or High) using the speed control switch.
  • Alternatively, connect the foot switch for variable speed control. Press the foot switch to start sewing and release to stop.

2. Stitch Selection

  • Rotate the Pattern Selector Dial to choose from the available stitch patterns (e.g., straight stitch, zigzag stitch).
  • The machine offers five types of stitching, including straight lines and curves.

3. Thread Tension Adjustment

  • Adjust the Thread Tension Dial to achieve balanced stitches. A higher number typically means tighter tension.
  • Test on a scrap piece of fabric to ensure the upper and lower threads interlock evenly.

4. Reverse Sewing

  • To reinforce stitches at the beginning or end of a seam, press and hold the Reverse Lever. The machine will sew backward.
  • Release the lever to resume forward sewing.

5. LED Light

  • Use the LED Light Control Switch to turn the sewing area light on or off as needed for better visibility.

6. Fabric and Needle Selection Guidelines

Proper needle selection is crucial for optimal stitching and to prevent damage to the machine or fabric.

  • When sewing thin fabric, choose straight stitching. Z-shaped or curved stitching may increase the probability of skipped stitches.
  • For thin, soft, and elastic fabrics, place an A4 printing paper underneath or use a special machine needle.
  • Needle #9, #10: Suitable for light and thin fabrics such as silk and chiffon.
  • Needle #11: Suitable for thin fabrics such as shirts, cotton, and knitted fabrics.
  • Needle #12: Suitable for medium fabrics such as shirts and polyester fabrics.
  • Needle #14: Suitable for medium-thick fabrics such as ordinary polyester cotton cloth, linen cloth, corduroy, and ordinary denim.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

  • After each use, turn off the power supply.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the exterior of the machine.
  • Periodically remove the bobbin case and presser foot to clean lint and dust from the feed dogs and bobbin area using a small brush.

2. Storage

  • Store the machine in a dry, dust-free environment.
  • The hidden storage box can be used to store bobbins, pins, and needles to prevent loss.

Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter. For more complex problems, please contact customer service.

  • Machine not turning on: Ensure the power adapter is securely plugged into both the machine and the electrical outlet. Check if the power switch is in the "On" position.
  • Skipped stitches: This can be caused by incorrect needle size for the fabric, a bent or dull needle, or improper threading. Re-thread the machine, replace the needle, and ensure correct needle-fabric pairing.
  • Thread breaking: Check for proper threading, correct thread tension, a burr on the needle or thread path, or a damaged needle. Ensure the thread is not tangled.
  • Uneven stitches: Adjust the thread tension dial. Ensure the bobbin is correctly inserted and the thread is unwinding smoothly.
  • Fabric not feeding: Ensure the presser foot is lowered. Check for lint buildup around the feed dogs.
