Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your landscape lighting system:

  1. Prepare the Path Lights: Attach a metal stake to the bottom of each path light. Ensure the stake is securely fastened.
  2. Position the Lights: Determine the desired layout for your path lights along your walkway, garden, or yard. Insert the staked lights firmly into the ground at your chosen locations.
  3. Lay the Landscape Wire: Unroll the 100ft landscape wire and lay it along the path where your lights are positioned. Ensure the wire reaches all lights and the transformer's intended location. The wire can be buried or concealed for a cleaner look.
  4. Connect the Lights to the Main Wire: Use the provided Fastlock2 wire connectors to connect each path light to the main landscape wire. These connectors are designed for easy, tool-free installation. Place the main cable into the groove of the connector, then insert the light's wire into the designated hole. Tighten the cap nut to pierce the cable and secure the connection.

  • Manual ON/OFF: Press the main power button on the transformer to manually turn the lights on or off.
  • Dusk to Dawn (AUTO Mode): Select the 'AUTO' setting. The built-in photocell sensor will automatically turn the lights on at dusk and off at dawn.
  • Countdown Timer Mode: Select one of the timer settings (2H, 4H, 6H, 8H, 10H). The lights will automatically turn on at dusk and remain on for the selected duration before turning off.

The transformer also features a memory function, retaining your last selected setting even after a power interruption.

Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your SUNVIE landscape lighting kit, consider the following maintenance tips:

  • Regular Cleaning: Periodically clean the light fixtures and the photocell sensor on the transformer to remove dirt, dust, and debris that may obstruct light or sensor operation. Use a soft, damp cloth.
  • Inspect Wiring: Annually inspect the landscape wire and connectors for any signs of damage, wear, or corrosion. Ensure all connections remain tight and secure.
  • Clear Obstructions: Keep vegetation trimmed around the lights and the transformer's photocell to prevent interference with light output or sensor functionality.
  • Weather Protection: While the system is IP65 waterproof, extreme weather conditions may require additional precautions. Ensure the transformer is mounted in a location that minimizes direct exposure to heavy rain or snow accumulation.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your lighting kit, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Lights Not Turning On:
    • Check if the transformer is properly plugged into a working outlet.
    • Verify that the transformer's mode is set correctly (AUTO or a timer setting) and that the photocell is not obstructed.
    • Inspect all wire connections, especially the Fastlock2 connectors, to ensure they are secure and making proper contact.
    • Check for any breaks or damage in the main landscape wire.
  • Some Lights Not Working:
    • Examine the specific light fixture and its connector for damage or loose connections.
    • Ensure the light's wire is fully inserted and the connector cap nut is tightened.
  • Lights Flickering:
    • Loose wire connections are a common cause. Re-check all Fastlock2 connectors and transformer terminals.
    • Ensure the total wattage of connected lights does not exceed the transformer's 60W capacity.
  • Lights Staying On During Daytime:
    • The photocell sensor may be obstructed by dirt or debris. Clean the sensor.
    • The photocell may be exposed to artificial light sources (e.g., porch light) at night, preventing it from detecting darkness. Relocate the transformer or shield the sensor from external light.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact SUNVIE customer service for further assistance.
