5. Setup
5.1 Charging the Device

5.2 Setting the Time
To ensure accurate timestamps on your recordings, synchronize the recorder's time with your computer's system time:
- Ensure the recorder is turned OFF before connecting it to your computer.
- Connect the recorder to your computer via the USB cable. It will appear as a 'USB DISK'.
- Open the 'USB DISK' drive.
- Locate and open the folder named 'Settime'.
- Inside the 'Settime' folder, run the application named 'SetDigitRecorderTm'. This application will automatically synchronize the recorder's time with your computer's system time.
- Once synchronization is complete, safely eject the recorder from your computer.
Note: macOS does not support using this method to modify the time.
5.3 Activating Voice Activation (VOR)
The voice activation function is OFF by default. To enable or adjust it:
- Ensure the recorder is turned OFF before connecting it to your computer.
- Connect the recorder to your computer via the USB cable. It will appear as a 'USB DISK'.
- Open the 'USB DISK' drive.
- Locate the file named 'RECSET.txt'.
- Copy 'RECSET.txt' to your computer's desktop.
- Open the 'RECSET.txt' file on your desktop using a text editor (e.g., Notepad on Windows, TextEdit on macOS).
- Look for the line that begins with 'Vor'. The default setting is 'Vor:0', which means voice activated mode is off. To enable it, change 'Vor:0' to 'Vor:1' (or a value between 1-7 for sensitivity, where 7 is most sensitive).
- You can also adjust the recording sensitivity ('Gain') and bitrate ('Bit') in this file. It is generally not recommended to modify the bitrate unless you understand the implications.
- Save the changes to 'RECSET.txt'.
- Delete the original 'RECSET.txt' file from the 'USB DISK'.
- Copy the modified 'RECSET.txt' file from your desktop back to the 'USB DISK'.
- Safely eject the recorder from your computer.
- Restart the recorder by sliding the ON/OFF switch to OFF, then back to ON, for the changes to take effect.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
To power on the device, slide the ON/OFF switch to the 'ON' position. To power off, slide it to the 'OFF' position.
6.2 Starting a Recording
With the device powered off, slide the ON/OFF switch to the 'ON' position. The purple indicator light will be solid for 4-5 seconds, then the red light will flash 3 times, indicating that recording has started.
6.3 Saving a Recording
To stop and save the current recording, slide the ON/OFF switch to the 'OFF' position. The recording file will be automatically saved to the device's memory.
6.4 Connecting to a Computer and Playing Recordings

To access and play your recordings:
- Ensure the recorder is turned OFF before connecting it to your computer or smartphone.
- Connect the recorder to your computer using the provided USB cable. For smartphones, an OTG adapter (not included) may be required. The device will appear as a 'USB DISK'.
- Open the 'USB DISK' drive.
- Navigate to the folder named 'RECORD'. Your WAV recording files will be stored here.
- For Windows users, it is recommended to use 'Windows Media Player' for playback, as 'Groove Music' may not support WAV recordings from this device. For macOS users, you can typically click on the recording file to play it directly.
- After accessing your files, safely eject the recorder from your computer or smartphone.
