5. Controls and Connections
5.1 Top Panel Controls

- VOLUME - / +: Adjusts the audio volume.
- POWER / STANDBY: Turns the unit on or off.
- MODE: Switches between FM, CD, Bluetooth, and AUX input modes.
- CLOCK: Enters clock setting mode.
- SLEEP: Sets the sleep timer.
- REP/RAN / FM.ST: Repeats track/random playback (CD) or switches FM stereo/mono.
- PRESET/MEMORY / PAIRING: Saves/recalls radio presets or initiates Bluetooth pairing.
- PLAY/PAUSE (►/‖): Plays or pauses playback.
- SKIP BACKWARD (◀◀): Skips to the previous track/station.
- SKIP FORWARD (►►): Skips to the next track/station.
5.2 Remote Control

The remote control duplicates most functions available on the main unit and adds additional controls for convenience. Ensure batteries are correctly inserted (2x AAA, not included).

6. Setup
6.1 Placement Options
The SMV 800 BT offers flexible placement:
- Freestanding: Attach the provided stand base to the bottom of the unit for stable vertical placement on a flat surface.
- Wall Mounting: Use the keyhole slots on the rear of the unit to mount it securely to a wall. Ensure appropriate screws and wall plugs are used for your wall type.

6.2 Power Connection
Connect the supplied power adapter to the DC IN port on the rear of the unit, then plug the adapter into a standard wall outlet. The unit will enter standby mode.
7. Operating Instructions
7.1 Power On/Off
Press the POWER button on the unit or remote control to turn the unit on or off (standby mode).
7.2 Mode Selection
Press the MODE button repeatedly to cycle through available modes: FM Radio, CD, Bluetooth, and AUX.
7.3 FM Radio Operation
- Switch to FM mode using the MODE button.
- Press SKIP FORWARD (►►) or SKIP BACKWARD (◀◀) to automatically scan for the next/previous available station.
- To manually tune, press and hold SKIP FORWARD (►►) or SKIP BACKWARD (◀◀).
- To save a preset: Tune to the desired station, press PRESET/MEMORY, use SKIP FORWARD/BACKWARD to select a preset number (1-30), then press PRESET/MEMORY again to confirm.
- To recall a preset: Press PRESET/MEMORY, then use SKIP FORWARD/BACKWARD to select the desired preset number.
7.4 CD Playback
- Switch to CD mode using the MODE button.
- Insert an audio CD into the CD slot with the label side facing forward. The unit will automatically begin playback.
- Use PLAY/PAUSE (►/‖) to pause or resume playback.
- Use SKIP FORWARD (►►) or SKIP BACKWARD (◀◀) to skip tracks.
- Press REP/RAN to cycle through repeat modes (repeat one, repeat all) or random playback.
7.5 Bluetooth Pairing
- Switch to Bluetooth mode using the MODE button. The display will show "BT" and flash, indicating pairing mode.
- On your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select "SMV 800 BT" from the list.
- Once paired, the unit will emit a confirmation tone, and the "BT" indicator will stop flashing. You can now stream audio from your device.
7.6 AUX-IN Operation
- Switch to AUX mode using the MODE button.
- Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player) to the AUX IN port on the rear of the unit using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
- Control playback from your external device. Volume can be adjusted on both the external device and the Hi-Fi Centre.
7.7 Clock and Alarm Function
- Setting the Clock: In standby mode, press and hold the CLOCK button. Use SKIP FORWARD/BACKWARD to adjust hours/minutes, and CLOCK to confirm each setting.
- Setting the Alarm: In standby mode, press the ALARM button (on remote). Use SKIP FORWARD/BACKWARD to set the alarm time, and ALARM to confirm. Select the alarm source (Buzzer, FM, CD) and volume.
7.8 X-Bass Function
Press the X-BASS button (on remote) to activate or deactivate the X-Bass function, which enhances the bass frequencies for a more powerful sound.
8. Maintenance
To maintain your Hi-Fi Centre in optimal condition:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the unit's exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- CD Player: If the CD lens gets dirty, use a commercially available CD lens cleaner.
- Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, disconnect it from the power outlet and store it in a cool, dry place.
