Important Safety Information

Please read and understand all instructions before assembly and use. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Ensure all parts are present and undamaged before beginning assembly. Do not use if any parts are missing or broken.
  • Assembly should be performed by at least two adults for safety and ease.
  • Do not fully tighten screws until all parts are in place to prevent misalignment.
  • Always place a mattress on the bed frame before operating the hydraulic lift mechanism. The mechanism is designed to work with the weight of a mattress.
  • Keep hands and fingers clear of moving parts when operating the lift mechanism.
  • Do not allow children to play on or around the bed frame, especially when the storage mechanism is open.
  • Distribute weight evenly within the storage compartment. Do not overload.

Setup and Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps carefully for proper assembly. It is recommended to have two people for this process.

  1. Unpack and Identify Parts: Lay out all components on a clean, soft surface to prevent scratches. Refer to the parts list to ensure everything is present.
  2. Assemble the Headboard and Side Rails: Attach the side rails to the headboard and footboard using the provided hardware. Insert screws loosely at first.
  3. Install the Metal Frame: Assemble the metal frame that will support the mattress. Ensure all connections are secure but do not fully tighten all screws yet.
  4. Attach Hydraulic Lift Mechanism: Secure the hydraulic lift mechanism to the bed frame according to the diagrams in the included installation manual. Pay close attention to the orientation of the parts.
  5. Install Wooden Slats: Place the wooden slats into the designated slots on the metal frame. The slats feature a snap-on design for easy installation.
  6. Final Tightening: Once all parts are in place and aligned, go back and fully tighten all screws and bolts. This prevents shifting and ensures stability.
  7. Attach Mattress Stopper: Secure the mattress stopper at the foot end of the metal frame.

Operating Instructions

The Jocisland bed frame features a hydraulic lift system for convenient access to under-bed storage.

Lifting the Bed Frame:

  1. Ensure a mattress is placed on the bed frame. The hydraulic mechanism is designed to function optimally with the weight of a mattress.
  2. Locate the lifting handle, typically positioned at the foot end of the mattress support frame.
  3. Firmly grasp the lifting handle and gently pull upwards. The hydraulic struts will assist in lifting the mattress and frame smoothly.
  4. Lift the frame to its fully open position to access the storage compartment. A safety stopper is integrated to hold the frame securely in the open position.

Lowering the Bed Frame:

  1. Ensure no obstructions are present in the storage compartment that would prevent the frame from closing completely.
  2. Grasp the lifting handle and gently push downwards, guiding the frame back into its closed position. The hydraulic system will control the descent.
  3. Ensure the frame is fully lowered and rests securely on the base.

Maintenance and Care

Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your bed frame.

  • Regular Cleaning: For the linen upholstered surfaces, gently vacuum with a brush attachment to remove dust and debris. For spills, blot immediately with a clean, dry cloth. For tougher stains, a mild fabric cleaner can be used, but always test on an inconspicuous area first.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use abrasive cleaners, strong detergents, or solvents on the fabric or metal components, as these can cause damage.
  • Check Connections: Periodically inspect all screws and bolts to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten if necessary to maintain stability and prevent squeaking.
  • Hydraulic Mechanism: The hydraulic lift mechanism is designed for long-term use and generally requires no maintenance. Do not attempt to lubricate or disassemble the hydraulic struts.
