5. Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper cleaning and maintenance are essential for hygiene and the longevity of your breast pump. All parts that come into contact with breast milk are made from food-grade safe silicone and are dishwasher safe.

Daily Cleaning:

  1. Disassemble: After each use, disassemble all parts that came into contact with breast milk (milk collector, silicone diaphragm, duckbill valve, flange).
  2. Rinse: Rinse all disassembled parts under cold running water to remove any milk residue.
  3. Wash: Wash parts in warm, soapy water using a dedicated brush. Alternatively, place them on the top rack of your dishwasher.
  4. Rinse Again: Rinse thoroughly under clean running water.
  5. Air Dry: Place parts on a clean paper towel or drying rack and allow them to air dry completely. Do not use cloth towels as they may leave lint.

Sterilization:

Sterilize all parts that contact breast milk at least once a day, or as recommended by your healthcare provider. This can be done by boiling in water for 5 minutes, using a steam sterilizer, or a microwave sterilizer bag.

Motor Unit Care:

The motor unit should never be submerged in water or sterilized. Wipe the motor unit with a clean, damp cloth as needed. Ensure it is completely dry before storage or next use.

Storing Milk:

After pumping, carefully pour the milk into a storage bottle or bag. Ensure the pump is kept upright when detaching the motor to prevent spills.
