1. Introduction

2. Important Safety Instructions

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, injury to persons, or exposure to excessive microwave energy.

  • Do not attempt to operate this oven with the door open, as this can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy.
  • Do not place any object between the oven front face and the door, or allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.
  • Do not operate the oven if it is damaged, particularly the door, door seals, or hinges.
  • Only qualified service personnel should adjust or repair this appliance.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the appliance.
  • Do not heat liquids or other foods in sealed containers as they are liable to explode.
  • Never use metal utensils or foil in microwave mode unless specifically instructed by a recipe or the manual for combination cooking.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all packaging materials from the oven and its accessories. Inspect the oven for any damage. Retain packaging for future transport if needed.

3.2 Placement

Place the oven on a stable, level surface capable of supporting its weight. Ensure there is adequate space around the oven for ventilation:

  • Minimum 10 cm (4 inches) clearance on the rear.
  • Minimum 5 cm (2 inches) clearance on the sides.
  • Minimum 20 cm (8 inches) clearance above.

Do not block any ventilation openings.

3.3 Initial Cleaning

Before first use, wipe the interior and exterior of the oven with a damp cloth. Ensure the oven cavity is dry before plugging it in.

3.4 Water Tank Installation

The water tank is essential for steam cooking functions. Pull out the water tank drawer located at the bottom front of the appliance. Fill the tank with fresh, potable water up to the maximum fill line. Reinsert the drawer firmly until it clicks into place.

4. Operating Instructions

The NN-DS59NB offers multiple cooking modes. Refer to the control panel for specific button functions.

4.1 Basic Microwave Cooking

  1. Place food in a microwave-safe dish.
  2. Close the oven door securely.
  3. Select the desired microwave power level and cooking time using the control panel.
  4. Press Start.

4.2 Convection Cooking

This mode uses a heating element and fan to circulate hot air, similar to a traditional oven.

  1. Place food on the grill tray or an oven-safe dish.
  2. Select Convection mode and set the desired temperature.
  3. Allow the oven to preheat if required by the recipe.
  4. Place food inside and set cooking time. Press Start.

4.3 Steam Cooking

The powerful steam feature locks in nutrients and flavors. Ensure the water tank is filled.

  1. Place food in a steam-appropriate dish or directly on the grill tray.
  2. Select Steam mode. Two different steam settings are available for various ingredients.
  3. Set cooking time and press Start.

4.4 Combination Cooking

This mode combines two or more heat sources (e.g., microwave and convection) for faster and more efficient cooking.

  1. Place food in an appropriate dish suitable for all selected cooking methods.
  2. Select a Combination cooking program from the menu.
  3. Set cooking time and press Start.

4.5 Air Fry Style

The Air Fry Style option uses high-temperature cooking with the grill tray to achieve crispy results with less oil.

  1. Place food on the grill tray. The grill tray allows simultaneous top and bottom grilling.
  2. Select the Air Fry Style auto menu program.
  3. Set cooking time and press Start.

4.6 Auto Menus

The oven includes pre-programmed auto menus for various dishes. Refer to the appliance's internal menu guide or the full product manual for a complete list and instructions.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your appliance.

5.1 Interior Cleaning

The stainless steel interior and flat grill heater are designed for easy cleaning. After each use, especially after steam cooking, wipe the interior with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild detergent and a soft cloth. The oven also features special steam cleaning programs to loosen food residue.

5.2 Exterior Cleaning

Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.

5.3 Water Tank

Empty and clean the water tank regularly to prevent mineral buildup. It can be rinsed with water and air-dried.

5.4 Grill Tray and Drip Tray
