Setup
1. Charging the Battery
Before initial use, fully charge the supplied NB-13L battery. Insert the battery into the charger and plug the charger into a power outlet. The charging indicator light will show the charging status and turn off when charging is complete.
2. Inserting the Battery and Memory Card
- Open the battery/card compartment cover on the bottom of the camera.
- Insert the charged NB-13L battery into the compartment, ensuring the correct orientation.
- Insert a compatible SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory card into the card slot until it clicks into place. Ensure the card is inserted with the correct orientation.
- Close the compartment cover securely.
3. Initial Settings
When you turn on the camera for the first time, you will be prompted to set the date, time, and time zone. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete these settings. This ensures correct timestamping of your photos and videos.
Operating the Camera
1. Power On/Off
Press the POWER button located on the top of the camera to turn it on or off. The lens will extend when powered on.
2. Selecting a Shooting Mode
Rotate the Mode Dial on the top of the camera to select your desired shooting mode. Common modes include:
- Auto (A+): Fully automatic mode for simple point-and-shoot operation.
- Program AE (P): Camera sets aperture and shutter speed, but you can adjust other settings.
- Shutter-priority AE (Tv): You set the shutter speed, camera sets aperture.
- Aperture-priority AE (Av): You set the aperture, camera sets shutter speed.

5. Playback

Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Camera
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the camera body. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water.

2. Battery Care
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place when not in use.
